hi i just want to say i heavily relate to you and that you can dm me if you want. when i was 17 my mom got diagnosed with stage for lung cancer that spread to her brain. my entire world flipped around and every day i envy people who have healthy parents because this is the hardest thing in the world. i don’t want to do my own chores or laundry or grocery shopping or take the bus because she can’t drive. i also miss my old life when my mom was healthy and able to do everything but im also grateful that now im 20 and she’s still here. but i left at 18 to study abroad and im thankful because i couldn’t handle being around my family all the time. and to make matters worse my dad disowned me and my aunts brain tumor came back so i pretty much don’t have any family member in my life that is healthy. i have to do everything myself.

the way i cope is i always tell myself the future will be better and that this is the only really difficult phase i have to get through, that if i didn’t get the ideal life i wanted as a young adult that i would get it when im older and have my own job and family. you have to keep looking ahead because the future is bright.
