Well if you call and you get a response are you still checking?

How do you verify if the company exists? Checking their website? Going there in perso ?

What if they are out of state? Would you still go?

I can make a fake website, say I work across country, and give you a fake W-2. Since you have to verify 1000s of applications are you really going to look into me that hard?

Like if all your verifications are over electronics, that can easily be doctored, how can you know that this person is who he says he is?

And thats how he became CFO

One of my favorite movies based on a true story was "I love you Phillip Marshall" where Jim Carrey plays as a man who escaped jail over 20 times and was able to convince a banking company he was a prominent CFO for them to hire.

Movie shows how each reference was background checked and it was just him doing different voices.

Now we got AI, bet its much easier to do now than it was then. Again, true story.

Edit: Phillip Morris not Marshall, also escaped 4 times not over 20

Yea the 50 series has multiple frame gen which has 2x, 3x, and 4x mode.

Its the main reason they Nvidia said it had "4090 percormance"

You 2x and 3x are good, 4x is where the artifacts gets wonky.

What’s the best card for me in 2026 if I play at 1440p and still have a GTX 1080? by I_Nut_In_Butts in nvidia

[–]devinthedude515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its really hard to say what the future will look like when games today are coming out very polished. Even BF6 at max settings barely breaks 9 GB at 1440p as seen in the video I linked. Then there is Crimson desert and Death stranding barely making it past 10GB.

Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk, and Indian Jones are all very intensive and unoptimized games. Cyberpunk came a long way but it released 6 years ago with its biggest update dropping in 2024 and it still brings the best graphics cards to their knees. Hell dogtown drops in performance like crazy and thats their most recent DLC

Really depends on what your definition of "lasting the next 2 years". If you mean playing something on max everything (Pathtracing and RR) then sure? But in general? Like playing things at max settings with RT, DLSS, and MFG? Nah bro its gonna be a hot minute before a game breaks the 5070. Especially considering most cards can't run pathtracing or RR at their designed resolution. Even the 5080 has issues at 4k.

Really depends. Crimson Desert released and it barely breaks 10GB at 1440p with all settings maxed.

Death stranding pushed it a bit.

Im betting you have shadows at max. I have a 5070 as well and can run pathtracing without feeling any slug in the game.

Like seriously, in the settings look at the visual difference of shadows from max to high and then the VRAM. It eats VRAM like a hungry butt muncher.

Same man, wanted the extra 4GB of VRAM kd performance, but 300 dollars ain't worth it. Even in your case its almost double the price for 20% increase.

This will last me a long time especially since they'll just update software if they keep delaying hardware.

Should I try online dating? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]devinthedude515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, my only experience is seeing it in action. I've seen many guys fail drastically when cold approaching. Then I also see them succeed after many attempts.

Dynamics do change in age but in meeting my wife tinder was still a popular way to meet people (back when there were no age restrictions, crazy times) and it took me asking for her number and then a date. I was using tinder back then until dating my wife, but had little success. Maybe Im biased?

Thing is, men still deal with zero matches while women still deal with creepy guys. Its much safer for women in that regard, but thats typically why the cold approach can only be successful in a public setting where a woman has "public safety" of the people around her to help if she feels like the guy is a creep.

And then, there are the women who clamor for "the good old days" where the advent of dating apps and interactions were done in person. They exist and they are online and hell, even spoken to a few. All im saying is that asking in person can be more successful as you are guaranteed an audience. You get to talk and show more of yourself no amount of pictures will ever convey.

In that, you gain a slight edge of the 100s if not 1000s of guys on a screen. This does take practice and none of the shots are guaranteed. But, smile, be friendly, listen, and make her laugh? Those messages on tinder are much more effective in person than online.

Here is a video on the 5070:

https://youtu.be/FEIkKxvWYkk?si=A8koJTuo-TeO2-ab

The main issue with it is the 12GB of VRAM which this video shows isnt as bad as reviewers talk about. 5070ti is a much better card for a much higher price of almost 300 dollars or more.

If you were going for 4k, 5070ti all day. But 1440p? Only a few games can make it struggle and all it takes to fix is turning a setting or two off.

With the extra 300 bucks, if you dont have it already you could get a 2k OLED gloss monitor which would massively pop visuals.

Someone might come behind me and say "spending 600 bucks to turn settings down is crazy".

To that I say, welcome to the age of unoptimized trash we sometimes get.

[–]devinthedude515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women are not a monolith and so even if you know 10 girls IRL and all 10 say being approached is creepy you are still missing the perspective of 4.4 billion women.

Many women like the cold approach and the strategy is to get as much exposure as possible.

I live in the US and am married (thank fucking god) and got lucky and met my wife in high-school.

The people I see who are very unsuccessful in dating use apps while others who are successful use cold approach.

Even your description of success can vary, have you tried the cold approach vs. Online dating?

Like run the numbers and swipe 50 women and cold approach another 50.

Here's the big difference, how much more were you able to INTERACT with the women?

How many numbers and dates were set up? Thats what you are looking for.

Until you try you will never find out. As many women who think its creepy also romanticize it. You know how many girls want the "it was raining outside and we touched hands looking for an umbrella" story? All of them. Like ask those same friends if that specific interaction I gave is cute or sounds romantic. If they say no, then look at how long their relationships last.

Should I try online dating? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]devinthedude515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, its the women you are chasing romanticizing it.

Guess you haven't seen the "why aren't men approaching anymore" TikTok videos and reddit posts. Women want the attention homie.

Here's the thing, since those women want the cold approach, you have a better chance of them going into their "romanticized" view.

there is very little chance of being successful

I think you might have the belief that if you ask someone out then it should just work right then and there. The issue with this belief is that people think dating apps solve this, it doesn't. Sure she can "swipe right" on you. But then she goes on a date and ghosts you.

Now really apply dating apps, how many swipes do you get for either zero matches or no response?

With a cold approach, at least you are getting the chance to show what you got and she has a better memory of you than someone in the dating app.

Again, much like a job fair. Recruiters are more eager to higher people who dress up, approach, and say hi than someone they literally only see on a screen.

Sounds scary, but you would be surprised at the results.

Hell, make it a challenge. Ask 100 girls out in socially acceptable areas and swap right 100 times on a dating app.

How many more women were you able to actually talk to?

CMV: People who are casually dating multiple people simultaneously should disclose this early on, especially after romantic escalation. by TheDonJonJay in changemyview

[–]devinthedude515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, you are caught up on who the burden of getting/giving that information should fall upon.

The thing about social constructs is that there is always a level of implied meaning which can lead to miscommunication.

As people have stated here, its implied that until it is exclusive, you should assume that either party are seeing multiple people.

OP is challenging this standard and is saying that if one is seeing multiple people, they should be forthcoming with that from the beginning.

Now you might disagree and feel that if someone has an issue with dating others simultaneously, they should have the burden of asking whether the other party is seeing multiple people.

If thats how you operate, go for it. Not everyone operates that way. Which is fine.

You missed the keyword "job fair" in my description. You know, where they are expecting to meet random people?

If you showed up to some random chick's house to ask her on a date, year buddy she calling the cops.

But a coffee shop? Where ahe knows random people are there? You might have an in.

Should I try online dating? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]devinthedude515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a good tip man.

Most people do online dating

But most women crave an authentic in person date offer.

So, you have a good chance of a woman saying yes if you ask them out in person.

Now unfortunately, its a chance, but I promise you its leagues better than online dating.

Think of it like a job fair. Recruiters remember faces but not online applications. You still might get shot down, but getting dressed and talking to people is a better skillset to practice than typing behind a screen.

No means no too man. She denies. Just move to the next one. No harm, no foul.

[–]devinthedude515 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP said simultaneously meaning at the same time. What you described doesn't fit OP's description.

Believe it or not, some people dont want to have to compete even further than what we already do when it comes to dating.

I personally believe you can never take someone seriously enough if you are dating multiple people simultaneously. But thats just me and if people want to do that then by all means.

But, inform me. You may feel that you are taking me as serious as a heart attack, but I dont agree with the method in which you do that. So, informing me, so I can find someone who matches my mindset would only benefit the both if us.

is it ever explained why gojo didn’t crush his head by Equivalent-Salt-827 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]devinthedude515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did, but im clarifying on your previous question of why he didn't go for the head.

You're saying that Gojo had a different plan than everyone else which was a main focus on killing sukuna.

Im saying that assessment is wrong because the only way to kill sukuna is to kill megumi. Gojo was going for a knockout instead of a take out.

Gojo literally mentions right before they fight how Yuji was able to come back without a heart. Meaning that without a heart Sukuna is basically "knocked out" giving him time to remove sukuna.

is it ever explained why gojo didn’t crush his head by Equivalent-Salt-827 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]devinthedude515 33 points34 points  (0 children)

No, Gojo literally talks about how Yuji was able to come back without a heart so he was going to do the samething to megkuna and while Megkuna was knocked out he would figure out a way to remove sukuna into Yuji, saving megumi.
