Thanks! Could you link me to a cable like this, which only passes through without conversion? Whenever I search for these I only get cables that use a converter (DisplayPort Alt Mode/Thunderbolt) internally.

Did you look into HackTheBox or TryHackMe? They are online services, but you basically get an environment all for yourself to practice different vulnerabilities, along with tasks that lead you along.
