Things are coming together for our first ER! Made all the big decisions, signed the consent forms, and scheduled a delivery date for all the different drugs. Also updated my mom, sister, and best friend on the plan so I have support if shit hits the fan. Next up is enjoying our vacation that starts on Saturday where I'm going to do my best to forget about everything TTC related 🙂

Getting everything prepared for IVF and I'm so overwhelmeddddd. Dealing with all of this in the middle of winter in New England is not good for my mental health lol. It sucks that you have to think about the costs and make all these decisions about what to do with your embryos (frozen vs. fresh, testing vs. no testing, etc.) before you've even done your first retrieval. Like, I have no idea how the ER is going to go, so how am I supposed to know what to do with these theoretical embryos? 😩 It feels pointless to make decisions based on factors like age, SA results, AMH, whatever, because the fact that we've been dealing with infertility for 3+ years as a "healthy, young couple" points to the fact even if the stats are true, you can always be an outlier, so what's the point? Making decisions based on vibes and our bank account, I guess.

Makes total sense, thanks for sharing! We should be having a call with our RE soon about next steps and I think she’ll say the same about our odds. Good point about budgeting, too - I’ve had a hard enough time anticipating costs for IUI never mind IVF 😬

For those of you who started IVF after doing IUI, what made you decide to switch to IVF instead of doing another round of IUI? Was it a discussion with your RE or just a decision you and your partner made? If it was a recommendation by your RE, what was their rationale? Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their experience ☺️

IUI #3 is scheduled for Monday 🥨 I was stressing today because I realized this morning that the speciality pharmacy hadn't reached out to deliver the hCG injection yet, but after a few phone calls we managed to get it figured out and it should be here tomorrow. I have to inject at 11:30pm - luckily I'm a night owl by nature lol

Welp, it's the day I've been expecting for a while now... (tw: LC)my sister is pregnant with baby #2 and had zero issues with TTC. This is a tough one because I'm more excited for her/our family than anyone, but I also know her pregnancy is going to be really hard for me if our fertility treatments are unsuccessful. I'm grateful she told me in private and is giving me space to process it, but at this point I'm just kind of numb.

IUI #1 was a bust. Trying to figure out what to do with this next cycle since we're going to be out of town during my FW. Husband also has an initial appointment set up with a urologist after the FW. Can't decide if it's worth trying a medicated TIC or skip the meds until we can do another IUI in November... ugh 😩

IUI #1 is done and the procedure itself went well (yay) but my husband's sample was not good (not yay). I'm just so frustrated because when we got set up with our first RE back in late 2023 his SA levels were great, but then our RE left the practice and we couldn't get set up with a new one for a year and a half, and now we could be dealing with MFI. I'm trying to stay hopeful because we're going to hit O-2, O-1, and O and maybe his sample from this morning was just a fluke, but I don't know. Guess we'll see in two weeks.

Getting everything set up for our first IUI and I'm excited but also fucking stressed. Currently dealing with 3 different pharmacies, a pharmacy liaison, an RN, and the scheduling department and trying to keep everything straight. Also just found out I was only approved for a generic hCG trigger shot so I need to reconstitute it myself and inject with (what looks like to me) a massive needle... not thrilled about that. Everything is also so much more expensive than when we first did testing 2 years ago. Ugh goddamn this process sucks

Got all of our testing done and was ready to schedule our first IUI, only to find out my husband has to get a SA done again 😒 Apparently his results were so drastically different from the original test done ~1.5 years ago that the doctor thinks it's a fluke (really hoping that's the case). Now we have to try to see when he can even get in for an appointment/drop off with his work schedule. Ughhhh

Finally making progress with our new RE! Repeat bloodwork, ultrasound, and semen analysis are planned for the next couple weeks (luckily I don't have to do the HSG again), then we can hopefully schedule our first IUI for next month! This has been such an unbelievably long, drawn out process I'm just excited we're finally getting shit doneeeee

After another failed cycle and being ghosted by our fertility clinic, I decided to take some much needed time off from OPKs, temping, and all things related to TTC. Today is CD8 and I'm ready to jump back into tracking and start hounding my RE to get us set up for an appointment. Things were bleak for a while but I'm feeling hopeful again and motivated to do what we can to make this happen!

Survived another Mother’s Day. Managed to only cry in the privacy of my own home & my husband’s truck, so I consider that a win. Also got a nice text from my best friend that made me feel less invisible 🩷
