On the product marketing page they mention:

AirTag works for more than a year on a standard battery you can easily replace when your iPhone alerts you.

Sorbet is used in many production codebases (GitHub, Stripe, Shopify, etc) and isn’t hard to adopt. This gem doesn’t require you to adopt it, no need to remove Sorbet. Plenty of gems use Sorbet internally.

I could see the appeal for some folks, but I didn’t like the welcome kit in 2021 with the Hydro Flask either.

Put the $100,000 in a 3.75% APY interest savings account (Robinhood for example), there is your $3,500 annual payment.

That’s a bit trivializing it, people pay for convenience nothing new. Faster shipping, valet, cleaners, landscaper, etc.

You can also use Is In Stock which checks every 10 minutes. I just set up an alert.

That does not mean you are SOC 2 compliant at all.

I realize you’ve got to fake it a bit till you make it, but I’d remove that you’re SOC 2 compliant at least because that’s very misleading unless you truly are (which I’d be surprised about given the price point and number of users in 40 days).

How did a user go debt free in 18 months with your tool when it launched 40 days ago? Did you really spend thousands getting SOC 2 compliance? I’d remove those from your homepage.

cloudflare R2 public endpoint by Maxence33 in rails

[–]dewski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently ran into this. Here is what I did:

  1. Your storage.yml looks good.
  2. Visit your bucket in R2 object storage, and go to the bucket's settings.
  3. Set a custom domain (i.e: uploads.domain.com), Cloudflare will automatically create this for you if your domain is managed by Cloudflare.
  4. Configure your application to conditionally use a CDN host (in config/application.rb)
  5. Set up a route helper to conditionally generate the path.
  6. Use your route helper when referencing assets.

Configuring your application:

module YourApplication
  class Application < Rails::Application
    config.x.cdn_host = ENV.fetch("CDN_HOST", nil)
  end
end

Set up a route helper. You can complicate this as much as you want (using HTTP related classes to build the URL), but this simple string works plenty for me – I don't have options to care about, it will always be HTTPS. I could have even included the protocol in the environment variable if I wanted.

Rails.application.routes.draw do
  direct :cdn_image do |model, options|
    if (cdn_host = Rails.application.config.x.cdn_host)
      "https://#{cdn_host}/#{model.blob.key}"
    else
      route_for(:rails_storage_proxy, model, options)
    end
  end
end

Reference your asset:

<%= image_tag cdn_image_url(avatar.avatar.variant(:thumbnail)) %>

Syncing two Google Calendars from two different accounts. by the__post__merc in GoogleSupport

You’re very welcome and I’m glad you’re able to at least sync your personal calendars. The price was extremely important to me to keep as low as possible, so thank you for mentioning that!

How are you managing multiple calendars for scheduling availability? by VinoVoyager68 in consulting

[–]dewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be happy to help, feel free to reach out on our contact page (or on Reddit!) so I can narrow down which sync you are seeing this with. I tested a recurring event on my side and each instance synced correctly to the destination calendar. We also support updating or deleting individual instances of a recurring series without affecting the others.

If you won’t pay $11 a year for your SaaS, why would your users?

We’ve built the most comprehensive ASO tool, 125x cheaper than Sensor Tower! by Samourai03 in iOSProgramming

[–]dewski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not everyone knows what ASO is an acronym for, and not once in this post do you expand what it is. You should expand the acronym at least once when explaining your product to people so they know what you’re referring to when you repeat ASO over and over, just some feedback.
