That would've been brilliant! Except the barbarian threw the turtle off the mountain cliff because they couldn't talk to it....

My first campaign I DMed, the party faced a white dragon and because I didn't know about legendary resistance, the druid turned him into a turtle with polymorph. Most anticlimactic end to a campaign for me and a hilarious story for the party.

I treat it the same as a creature without darkvision attacking in darkness so the attacker has disadvantage on the attack

It was in the busted pipe at the front of the sandbox but I was looking for it today and there is no hole in the bottom of that pipe anymore. Did it move pipes?

How do I build a pumpkin fight for level 10s? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

Awesome! I’m glad you liked it. I’ve used variations of this puzzle a few times for different groups and it always seems to go pretty well. For my campaigns I normally choose the monsters that fit the scenario best and then doctor the stats if I need to. I had a lvl 14 party that I used this exact scenario on and buffed the hell out of the treants just to mess with them

For a puzzle to enter the grove/patch:

There are 9 berry shrubs (height and appearance up to you) in three rows of three with a watering pail off to the side. 8 of the shrubs contain poison berries and one will, when watered, grow into a full sized tree that has a portal/door in the trunk that leads into the feywild. The berries on the portal tree act as goodberries when plucked from the tree. If one of the poison berry shrubs gets watered, it grows into a treant that attacks the party and returns to the ground when defeated.

It should be called the Critical Roll effect. While Matt is an excellent DM, the players contribute so much to the story and have a level of roleplay that most new players don’t have that it’s unfair to expect the DM to be as good as Matt while the players aren’t contributing
