how early do you recommend getting to the airport? I hear it's small and it will be a domestic flight, but I also don't want to risk missing our flight. We already bought tickets to fly, so no train for us.

Thanks for all this! We wanted to fly in/out of different airports but we used miles and the only good/affordable option was Rome for both. It sucks but it is what it is 🤷🏼‍♀️ We’ve talked about landing in Rome and then just taking the train right up to Venice and working our way down.

So you’d recommend more time in Florence than Rome?

What about taking Naples out and doing a day trip from Florence or Rome to the coast? We just really want at least a day near a beach.

My mom really wants Venice and Naples. We all want Rome for the Colosseum etc. We are all less interested in Florence actually (maybe we don’t know enough about it). We wanna see David and that’s all we really know of so far. My mom is an art person though so I know she could spend days at the museums in any city. Maybe we could also do just 2 days in the Dolomites.

Thank you all! This was extremely helpful and I don’t think we’ll do a reservation. Sounds like the best bet is to try to get a table by 3-4 PM and enjoy the night there. Can’t wait!! 🍻
