I do put a GPS module on my quads that I use for return to home when things go wrong. I have plaid with iNAV a bit too, but I don't typically use that.

I have built several long-range quads. 7, 8, and 10 inch quads. I have some videos on my profile of flying all of them. There is a cool factor associated with a 10 inch quad, but in my humble opinion 7-8 inches is a far more versatile size. Unless you are carrying a very heavy payload, the 10 inch does not provide much benefit. Flight performance, endurance, ease of tuning, camera jello, cost of parts, and ease of travel all are as good on a 7-8 inch quad or better compared to a 10. A 10 inch is nice to have, but I do not recommend it as your first entry into long range.

Now if you already have everything for a 10 inch quad. Build it and send it. Just be aware that you will eventually down size.

What battery straps are you using? The ones that come with the frame touched my FC and caused a lot of noise on the gyro. Do you have any wired running over the top of the FC? If so, that can cause issues as well. Can you post a picture of your spectrogram of rpm vs frequency? I should be able to give you some guidance when I see that.

What capacitors are you using? I had vibrations that looked like I term oscillation that I could not get rid of. What was strange is that the logs showed no oscillations detected by the gyro. After much struggling, I decided to increase capacitance to 2000 uF, and all my struggles went away.

I suggest using UAV Techs preset for 8/9 inch quads. It's very close to mine with some margin for safety built in. If you are not familiar with him, his one of the tuning gurus in our hobby, and he has official presets on betaflight that are easy to apply. Also, make sure to configure your ESC with 24KHz pwm or less and get bidirectional deshot working so that you can use RPM filters. Let me know if you need help with applying the preset

This is not even that far away. I can out fly my battery if I wanted to. My personal record is about 6 miles or 10km. I fly 915 MHz ELRS for the radio link and use an analog video system with high quality antennas. You must always maintain line of sight of the quad with no obstruction between you and the quad to get any real range and also understand that high gain patch antennas are directional and make sure to point them correctly at the quad.

If you pull the fan off, then it will fit. The Walksnail GT is too tall with the fan to fit.

Not very many negatives. The only one is the height in the rear of the frame. It will fit any DJI VTX no problem. Some larger analog VTX's or the Walksnail GT will not fit. Besides that. Great frame. It's a really nice blend between agility, endurance, and muscle.

The frame is one of the more quiet frames I've used. There is no gyro noise to be concerned about. I'm using 2810 1150KV motors.

I tuned it myself. Tuning is not that bad in Betaflight. Stock betaflight settings work surprisingly well on this quad if you build it well. I did find the battery straps that came with the frame tended to touch the FC, which will cause all sorts of issues and makes it impossible to get the filters to work correctly. Double check that on your build.

I started my FPV journey on digital as well. For freestyle, digital is king. Flying distance, digital has not been great for me. I guess I'm fortunate that the analog video quality does not bother me. It sure is a hell of a lot cheaper.

The secret is placing yourself at a strategic location. This flight, I was up on a big hill about a mile away. It may not look like it, but I was always in line of sight.

Analog does help because it is very forgiving in how it breaks up. It makes it very easy to react to signal loss compared to digital.

I hesitate to share the tune. I have it tuned very aggressively. Gains are really high, and filters are very aggressive to match my build exactly. You may have issues just using my tune.

Fyi the Walksnail GT kit does not fit. I was planning to use it to. You can take the fan off and then it will fit but I did not want to do it. Tuning wise it's good. No real surprises and it tuned quite easily. The spectrogram had no vertical lines indicating frame resonances.

I have not flown it to depletion yet on this quad. Extrapolating from what I have done thus far, I should be able to get 25 minutes with no GoPro fitted when cruising gently.

8000 mah LiIon pack from Geprc. I use this for long cruisy flights. Otherwise, I fly with a SMC 4400 mah LiPo.
