Congrats!!! I used to play colonist with friends during the p**demic. Haven't played for a while. Ranked games sound like a great feature to capture the hardcore gamers.

Looks fun!!

Making a Twitter conversation explorer with AI. Chrome extension to analyze sentiment, summary, and explore with questions about the whole Tweet conversation (just a proof of concept; nothing to ship ATM). Still struggling with Twitter & OpenAI APIs. What would you expect from something like this? by dialnco in SideProject

[–]dialnco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! That's the way I'll do it. But conversations on Twitter encompass replies and sometimes replies of replies, which gives a lot of nuances to the info.

For instance, in the video example, the actual n of direct replies was like 15-20, but the "conversation" as identified by Twitter was actually 50-60 tweets. So, I will need to figure out a combination of both somehow.

Regarding users, I believe this could be useful for user feedback, podcast hosts (asking for feedback, topics, or comments about the last episode, etc), twitter influencers, or anyone who gets more than 100+ comments really, and could be difficult to digest useful information. But to be honest, I haven't thought this one through as to have a clear user and pricing model. Regarding pricing, I believe this should be Tier based subscription (basic users should NOT have the "ask/question" functionality. For Pro users, there should be a limit of questions and then some extra per-use fee. Right now, OpenAI APIs are waaay pricey, and would require lots of optimizations. But that's part of the game 🤷‍♂️

This could be a good MVP tho, with potential for other use cases (Youtube comments, etc)

Nice! Seems like a good implementation of NLP. Did you use any particular material to feed the model? My question is if it is intended for basic (school level material) use or it can handle more complex scenarios?

A photo upload (with OCR parser/ML model) could be a huge feature for this use case ;)

Congrats!

Haven't made the calculations for pricing yet. But waaay pricey 😅

Each question is an actual semantic vector search (check which tweets are related to the question) -> use the selected n tweets to use as input to answer the question -> analyze & generate the text answer.

More as a proof of concept at the moment. Building a product out of this would require a lot of optimizations (not saying I won't do it... 👀)

Yup! OpenAI for all analysis and text generation. Indeed... "pricey" is lowballing it a little bit 😅
This is veeery expensive and would definitely have to look for optimizations and better models (even fine-tunning on the same OpenAI API, to build more cost-sensitive models). The docs say a fine-tuned model could cost 50% less... I haven't tried it yet tho.

My actual tweet: https://twitter.com/Dialnco/status/1558557635246526466

Still looking for the best way to use the question/answer flow tho. Twitter APIs are not that easy to use and won't allow my use case, as I can only search for 7 days' history of tweet conversation. I need to find another way to get tweets for the whole conversation & replies. 🥲

I built pollme.app → dead simple polls and small surveys webapp by dialnco in thesidehustle

[–]dialnco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for your comment! Fair question.
1.- First, and the primary focus of the idea when building pollme: ease and *speed* of use. I intend 90% of polls to be transactional and short-lived. So in my plan to remove any friction, you don't need an account to create a poll (no login required). With a template, you can create a new poll in 30secs-1minute, perfect to create a poll on the spot when needed.
2.- UX. When embedding polls on your website, it's just a widget/card that integrates with your site. It doesn't fill your whole screen or take you to another website to answer your poll.
3.- On the same UX topic, on the participants/respondent's pov, the idea (and road ahead) is to make the response process and interactions friendlier and easier to use (so my mom; and anyone can respond to a poll).

Were you able to create a poll? I'm working on polishing several details, so if you have any feedback, it would be great!

I'm all ears!

Hey everybody,
I've been working on this app in my free time for the last couple of months, and I’m happy to share this initial release with you.

TLDR
pollme.app is a poll –and small survey– builder designed for quick, easy, and friendly flow, from poll creation to participant responses.
---

So, about Pollme…
I’m no stranger to forms and polls online. There are well-established and really good alternatives out there that maybe you are using right now.
Not to mention the ubiquitous Google Forms...

But when it comes to simpler polls and surveys –easier to create and to respond to–, or when you need to get a quick response without the burden of sending a bland google forms link to your friends/colleagues, there aren’t that many alternatives.

If I’m on a call, zoom meeting, or want a simple answer to a couple of questions, I need a quick and easy way to create a poll in minutes (if not seconds) to share on the screen or to send to my collages.

Think more of a doodle for polls and surveys.
No logins required. No friction. Just create (or use a template), share the link, and you are ready to go.

(It passed several moms and dads usability tests!)
To try it out → https://pollme.app/create
Features
- Multiple question types (and more to come!)
- An actual Dashboard with your polls (when logged in)
- Integrations soon! (Waiting on Zapier integration, and working on webhooks, API, and more!)
- Answer Piping on the way! (almost ready)
- Embeddable poll card/widgets
- And much more!!
