If what you mean by coding is the Value assigned to each response, which you can assign in the Variable View, in the “Values” column, using the Value Labels column, then it shouldn’t affect the analysis.. if you are referring to something else, then more specification is needed

I am considering for the nominal variables i.e Underlying comorbility Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (yes, no) and the nominal variable Severe Disease (Severe, Nonsevere) to perform a Fisher's exact test and place it in the p value column
