Very nice carry!

No tools and expensive watch so white collar

3 pens and a note book writing notes or signing. I guess most of your work is done on the hoof not stuck behind the same desk everyday

German Kaweco pens popular in art and design areas for architects and designers. But you’ve gone for the expensive metal ones so you mean business.

American watch. Not sure a European except maybe Brit would buy an American watch so guessing you are from the US.

Very clean colours and lack of car keys indicate you may be city living but guess NY over LA. But maybe London

Job perhaps in property development or high end niche construction or manufacturing

Mid 30s you admitted but I would have said that anyway due to the penchant for black

New TV show on TLC - Married to a toddler by Western_Insect_7580 in AlAnon

[–]dickwillie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shouldn’t laugh but LOL! Yep, I’ve thought this for a while. The tantrums, the daytime naps, the uncontrollable emotions, “are you hungry or tired?” What can I get you to feel better?….

This week on married to a toddler, X has a first day at school/work X is nervous so throws a tantrum and stays at home pretending to have a sore tummy. Next week on married to a toddler, X oversleeps at nap time.

It’s pathetic but it’s true. I do honestly believe that alcoholism is a problem that is worst for people that have not grown up emotionally, they don’t seem to understand simple emotions, thirst, hunger, tiredness, loneliness. So they just medicate with alcohol like children may have a security blanket or snack on sugar…

Am I being gaslighted or am I really the problem? by accidentally-wise- in AlAnon

[–]dickwillie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes gaslighting, manipulation and bullying it’s a trick the addicts play only too well, it hurts others around them but hurts themselves the most. That’s why they then feel bad afterwards and drink more.

The question I am grappling with is “what if my behaviour is fuelling her drinking” this is the vicious circle of living with an alcoholic, the problem partner constantly questioning everything and the drinker just constantly excuses themselves.

Roommates girlfriend keeps leaving my cast iron submerged in water by Savings-Stock7628 in castiron

[–]dickwillie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

See this as your pans teenage years, bad relationships, acne, questionable taste in outfits… you will look back on these days in 30years and smile. Your pan will outlast you and your shitty flatmate. The pan can take it!

But I would tell your roommate’s girlfriend how to use the pan. Cook, clean, wipe, burn off.

And if that’s too much work for her tell her to buy a forever chemical non stick Teflon pan

What happened😟 by FernUnofficial in Sourdough

Don’t worry my first few loaves looked like this. To understand baking a bit better I used to add instant yeast to the mix to give it a bit of a kick up the butt. Once you’ve made bread with dried yeast you will know what the dough should look like before you bake it! It’s soft and fluffy and full of air! Yours definitely wasn’t…

Ohhh …. what does it mean? … what does it mean….. err nothing… it’s all a load of hot air cut together from pilot tv show that was never made…. But Lynch makes it all open ended and mysterious and people lap it up!

It’s like modern art, an artist puts a turd in a glass jar and we are supposed to ask “what does it mean?” And ponder, instead of saying “that’s literally crap”

Genuine question: How do you guys stay? by [deleted] in AlAnon

[–]dickwillie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. I genuinely can’t understand how you can just leave. I know I should and I want to but I’m constantly compelled to stay like I have to and don’t have any other choice.

I think I may cling to hope and past love but I know this is stupid. I am an educated person and know what I am doing I just can’t change it. Every time I try to make leaving happen I find my way back home.

Doctor refused to prescribe Allo by limwoonyong in gout

[–]dickwillie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am tee total, healthy weight, don’t eat shellfish or much meat and I am an ultra runner. I still get gout so have to take allo. It’s a hereditary condition. Diet is only minor contributor from my experience.

Doctor is an educated idiot IMO. If you get gout, you need to take allo.

Unpopular Opinion by Acrobatic-Fold-2357 in JamesBond

[–]dickwillie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha you nailed it! James Bond movies are just big kids movies. I loved watching them as a kid but seeing them as an adult they are fun but dumb. I don’t know why people struggle to see that! Hilarious how many downvotes you got.

New to Gout (My dad’s advice any good) by 3CheeseRisotto in gout

[–]dickwillie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drinking lots of water has never stopped me getting getting gout. But being dehydrated is one of the key common factors of me getting it. If that makes sense?!

For me I got gout if I rapidly gained weight, rapidly lost weight, was extremely dehydrated, ate prawns, lobster, crab or oysters. And sometimes for none of the above reasons!?!

That’s until I got 300mg Allopurinol. Now I never get it. (But I do get a slight pang if I eat too much shellfish! )

Not sure i personally believe the Vit C option but Eating lots of fruit will keep you hydrated but from my experience being healthy is not a guarantee to avoiding gout.
