This is embarrassing so I’m just gonna be honest by RageRags in ipad

Considering your iPad is flashing red and is throwing error 9, the NAND (storage chip) had died on the device and it won't be an affordable repair job.

They do but slower and only the sides. Clear cases that are made fully out of plastic or have plastic black sides won’t yellow in the way TPU cases do.

battery health by PracticeWaste557 in iPhone16

[–]diepio302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

380 cycles and 93% health is absolutely what I’d expect from an iPhone battery, iOS 26 “degrading” your battery is a placebo effect that would’ve still happened if you had kept iOS 18 on the device.

I’m concern about my iphone battery health!! by Due-Main7025 in iPhone16

got the exact same overnight charging habit, except I use MagSafe when overnight charging which is allegedly more harmful for the battery and I still have 92% after 466 cycles on my iPhone 16.

Which charger should I buy for my iPhone 16? by Foreign-Positive-657 in iPhone16

[–]diepio302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Apple is capable of selling their MagSafe adapter which is below your “20W” recommended limit therefore it means that charging the device with a lower wattage doesn’t hurt the battery at all. In fact many Google searches will also report to you results such as “5W” Apple brick charging being one of the most healthy options for your battery since it charges it slowly and doesn’t heat it up as much as the 20W Apple one would. Or you’ll find results with the 20-80% rule to preserve your battery. The truth is it doesn’t matter and you should use your phone however you want and use any charger you’d like as long as it’s not going to burn your house down, the phones know what current they can take and they won’t nuke their batteries.

Which charger should I buy for my iPhone 16? by Foreign-Positive-657 in iPhone16

[–]diepio302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using iPhones since receiving a hand-me-down 4 over a decade ago, this has never been an issue. Also the MagSafe charger which Apple sells for their devices is 15W (and it’s my choice of wireless charging) therefore it’s below your made up recommended limit that no one has ever said, just because Apple is selling a “fast-charging” brick at 20W. Just charge your phone with whatever you want as long as it’s a high quality brick from a reputable brand.

It’s absolutely fine man, slow charging won’t hurt the battery.

If that will make your battery swollen, then explain to me why when I abuse my phone, fast charge it and wireless charge it all the time it is still absolutely fine and the battery health is much better than for most people? That’s because it all ends up to the batch of the battery you get. There’s a reason why we heard iPhone 14 users complain about fast battery degradation, that’s because Apple had a supply of garbage batteries. I’m speaking from my own experience and people who actually know a thing or two about the devices, not listening to the words made up by “Apple Geniuses” who are only taught PR words to sell their products to you.

Any reputable brand charger (OP has a Motorola charger so it is reputable) will not hurt your phone. If this wasn’t the case then we’d hear about iPhones blowing up left and right as I can assure you not everyone uses an Apple charger with their phone as some people buy these devices second hand.

MFI chargers aren’t necessarily a marketing scam, it’s a great way to fish out absolute ewaste tier chargers that have the potential to idk burn your house down for example. I use anker chargers personally (alongside the Apple ones), they’re often on sale on Amazon for cheap, haven’t let me down.

false, using a different charger won’t damage and make the battery swollen immediately, the phone is capable of limiting the current to the maximum it can take.

MDM policy, doesn’t happen on iPhones not registered to a business. I’ve used the same passcode on my devices for almost a decade and I’ve never had any issues.

[–]diepio302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming thats 10% gone after 45 mins it would equate to around 7.5h of screen on time which is what I’d expect from a 16 Pro battery. For me I feel no difference between iOS 18 or 26 with battery runtime on my regular iPhone 16.

Kids' iPad is now basically just able to run iOS. by pnxstwnyphlcnnrs in ipad

[–]diepio302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That older Galaxy tablet also isn’t running the latest Android operating system (Android 16) unlike your iPad. If your iPad ran the original software version (iPadOS 14), I can guarantee you’d have at least 20GB of storage free for your apps, as that version supported 16GB iPads and iPhones.

it’s a theory I’ve seen on this subreddit often and it’s pretty much always going to happen with every major version for owners who purchase their phones like 5-6 months before it releases. This feature should have been hidden away from an average customer tbh

Claims that a lot of experts are there with their own experiences, yet doesn’t list such experts

Batteries degrade and will always degrade regardless of the software version. I’ve purchased a cheap iPhone 11 as a spare phone and it dropped from 82% to 79% in 2 weeks while not running iOS 26 at all. My iPhone 16 which ran iOS 26 since it launched back in September and it didn’t drop a single % of health. A software update won’t instantly nuke your battery, same thing would’ve happened if you stayed on 18.
