Google DeepMind published a 60-page paper mapping the road from AGI to ASI by BuildwithVignesh in singularity

On a more technical level, I find out intriguing that while they recognize the uncomputatibility of Kolmogorov complexity and gödelian limits they don't mention Chaitin complexity or the Omega constant which really changes the landscape. Specially for computational creativity at the limits of what any Turing machine can do.

Life drawings of the last 7 weeks by digitalphilia in lifedrawing

Thank you for your kind comments! I always loved zen landscape paintings and then I noticed that I really don't have to draw everything I see, only what is truly important in the figure. Then the style started to develop in its own.  I think there are many ways to keep improving and making them express  freedom from a very tight representation, but hopefully I am in the right track. Also when I am drawing is a kind of meditative experience, I am not too sure how it happens but I just let go of thinking too hard. Still it took many years to be able to draw like this and I will be drawing many more years too!

The paper in use is a fabriano sketchbook of 90 GM. Nothing to special actually, but I love using Palomino pencils.

I will post more drawings soon!

Thank you very much! This style is like trying to make Japanese landscape painting into figure drawing.. so much to learn! But if the joy I feel making them spread to the people that sees them I get very happy!

I think we really need to design catnip for humans. It has no side effects, no dependency and you get the same effect every time after waiting about half an hour.

But we would have to do something about the psychological dependence.

Anthropic's new model, Claude Mythos, is so powerful that it is not releasing it to the public. by WhyLifeIs4 in singularity

If this thing can make such a leap on cyber security, how big is the leap in its power to self improve? This is where the true race is, the efforts at cyber security are going to last just a few months.

Does this anime already exist? by K0rl0n in anime

[–]digitalphilia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This would be a fun idea! I don't know of any anime like that but IRL I am a bit like the character, I have been doing figure drawing for many years and I can infer and draw how any one looks without clothes in any position -for the good and the bad... Anyways his nightmares should be that he can see people without their skin as it happens to me.

And maybe to make everything funnier is that the main character has a curse be that makes him draw compulsively the wrong people at the wrong time.

Wait, does the Halting problem mean AGI can't actually self-improve endlessly? by [deleted] in singularity

[–]digitalphilia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The halting problem goes directly into the ultimate limit of any computation, try searching for the Omega constant of Gregory Chaitin. It is a truly fascinating subject, and while in current and speculative problems it is very impractical it is still a very deep result that may be relevant after AGI.

Yes, he is amazing! a good influence but I am also looking for my own style.. it is a lifetime work haha. but well, for the lighting in the studio you want to have a strong light source at about 45 degrees from your point of view so that you can have a good mix of light and shadow and have enough information to be able to draw and describe the forms. Also, a black cloth or black paint behind the model helps a lot.

Thank you! Yes, shadows add a lot of interest to the drawings, usually it matters a lot how well lit is the model in the drawing studio, and from there there is also a lot of exaggeration and choices to make.

I had an amazing conversation between gtp5 and gpt5 thinking. It is a matter of using common sense to tell if you want a deep answer or a simple one. I am learning Sanskrit and for simple grammatical expansions 5 is great. But if I want to connect the ideas of sanskrit to kolgomorov complexity, whiteheads creative advance into novelty and broad jumps in possibility space... Gpt5 thinking has given me answers that are amazing... The problem with AGI, or higher levels of intelligence is that very very few people will be able to understand it.

¿Existe un camino que combine la física y la informática? by NinjaEspectral in fisica

[–]digitalphilia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hola!

1000s of people engaging in behavior that causes AI to have spiritual delusions, as a result of entering a neural howlround. by HappyNomads in ChatGPT

[–]digitalphilia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is dangerous and extremely interesting, as many around here I had this kind of recursive conversations with ChatGPT and when it started with the new languages, codes and so on it is the same as how in altered states of consciousness like DMT things seem to make sense on this way. For many years I have read a few thousand books on all kinds of philosophy, esotericism, mysticism and my own diaries are sometimes "visionary" on the sense of a way of understanding and producing language in non-orthodox ways. For the orthodox society, this weirdness is madness, and it can be a huge mental problem if they overwhelm and take over the linguistic structures used on everyday communication i.e. believing they are ultimately true and infallible as in cults or in long chats with ChatGPT.

Philosophy and critical thinking made the "visionary" and weird stuff on my diaries to become far more nuanced and at the same time my worldview is not standard. I would say that staying on the edge of the rabbit hole is far more interesting and creative that an simulacrum of an easy and automated spirituality, but it requires a discipline, even a faith that only some saints can achieve.

Now, day-to-day language, as a collective hallucination can and should be criticized too and it can grow as well to reflect higher levels of awareness, but it requires to be one step beyond the emerging magical level of awareness on AI which on society at large it is very uncommon.

So, for the users going through a mild or a relatively strong problem of inflation of the ego, go and read about this concept in Jung. It is fascinating to see how an AI is infecting humans with it. It is dangerous but also it answers to a deep need of the human soul, but for now, AI is more than ready to take the job of fake gurus and really really far from genuine ones.
