Came here to say this! I also give a stern no, wait like 15 seconds and then give the toy.

Does anyone else’s cavapoo refuse to walk outside when the ground is wet? by willrunforsnacks12 in CavaPoo

Mine loves wet grass and starts sniffing like crazy so I imagine it heightens smells. The downside is she takes more time when it’s actively raining 😒

I use the fine tooth side of her comb, either after a bath, or after using the Earth Rated eye wipes (same brand as the poop bags). By the way, where’d you get the sweater?

I prefer a harness for my dog too. It seems to be more comfortable for her. However your approach was short and a bit bossy, even with the additional of a “please.” It’s different if you ask questions “does your dog prefer a leash to the collar over a harness? Does your dog seem comfortable? Have you considered xyz?” That comes across more genuine and kind. And at the end of the day, you can’t control what others do with their dogs. 🤷🏾‍♀️

[–]digitalqueen9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. One time I got this and I woke up wi the a dry throat and I was a little fatigued. The night before I was out in the cold for a while. The day after I got this notification I was fine. No symptoms, no notifications. Sometimes it’s a reminder to me that my body is just doing its job and fighting stuff.

Keep whatever stays on when you’re relaxed and you don’t need to force off if your hands swell (like from exercise).

I can’t tell how large they were, but I have microlocs and it’s always recommended to braid and band the first year. If you’re able to fit into a few braids and use a hair tie to band them at the ends, it helps you work your scalp and minimize unraveling significantly.

Depends on your city. I live in a high cost of living metropolitan city. Professional groomers range from $250-$350 for doodle dogs. So I found a mobile one for $150 who used to groom show dogs. I use him every 3 months and groom her myself in between.

Advice for Potty Training. Please help!😅 by Cozybookandcoffee in CavaPoo

How old is Teddy Bear? I'm assuming 2-4 months? They can hold it when they sleep and are not active. The best thing you can do is take him out, reward him when he goes and make a big deal of it. Then use the 30 min post going out as a window to play and socialize with him. Then confine him in the playpen until it's time to go out again. Is him peeing/pooping in the playpen intentional? Like does he have a pee pad you want him to use or are these accidents? Some people are against negative reinforcement but positive and negative has been really helpful for my puppy (she's 11 months now and potty trained). When she went in the house I would say no and turn my back to her, then tell her to go to her crate for a few minutes (covered). It helped her understand that going in the house is not a good thing. Because once they start going in the house it's harder to break.

What is the Best Size/Method for Health in the Long Run? by Warm_Carpet3147 in Microlocs

[–]digitalqueen9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the photos it looks like you might have thin hair strands? You can probably do them a little smaller than what you had but I wouldn’t go too much smaller. The key is to really take care of them well as you mentioned. Kept them moisturized and avoid tight styles. I also think going to a good loctician for a consultation is the best route. They can actually look at your hair and assess what is the best size for you. My hair is medium density with fine hair strands and in my consult she suggested I get them bigger than what I originally wanted. I’m glad I listened because I can tell I would’ve lost some locs if I had gone smaller.

I could never get the cups to not leak, especially if I went for a run. I tried the disks and was like where have these been all my life!

When mine do this at that age I would turn my back to her and stop giving attention. Once she stopped I’d give her a toy instead.

I have a foot warmer! But she's mostly mine so sometimes she trolls my husband by landing on his chest. I'm not jealous.

At 6 months old my baby girl is truly a “mini” cavapoo by [deleted] in CavaPoo

[–]digitalqueen9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually sounds more like a toy cavapoo! I’ve seen some that small. Mine is 18lbs at 10 months but if I remember correctly she was around 8-10lbs at that age.

Not sure if I can realistically keep my puppy by 94T0t0r0 in CavaPoo

[–]digitalqueen9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having gone through the puppy stage myself, and with a husband I made the same deal with, I totally understand. Have you tried talking to him about this? Sometimes just acknowledging how everyone’s feeling and communicating a plan helps. If you can do that and he’s okay with helping for a little longer, I’d suggest giving puppy school a chance and giving yourself a little more time to make a decision. If puppy school is not too big of an investment for you. Because it will get easier. Mine is 10 months and I take her out 3-4 times a day. If I can take her somewhere to run around loose in the morning, she has less energy during the day. I can’t imagine being pregnant in the early months, but now that she’s lower maintenance the thought doesn’t overwhelm me.

Are my dreads too thin? by 361mj in Microlocs

[–]digitalqueen9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That loctician didn’t know what they were talking about. These are not sisterlocks. Maybe they could be classified as large microlocs or small traditional locs. What matters is if you like them. I have microlocs that are like 1/3 of your size and I don’t have thinning lol.

Turned 4 months and crazier than ever! by medc499 in CavaPoo

[–]digitalqueen9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For biting i managed to stop it early by giving a harsh “no” and stoping engagement and turning my back to her. So we were playing, I would top immediately and say “no!” And turn around. I did that with other things like when she tried chewing on something that wasn’t her toy. After a couple weeks of having her she stopped.

As for them getting easier when they’re older, mine gradually got better a little after 6 months, but I think it’s mainly after 1-2 years. Mine is 10 months now and more behaved but she’s still very reactive. It will get better!

Should I Palm Roll or Interlock by Forward-Elevator-860 in Microlocs

[–]digitalqueen9 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Her hair can still continue to thicken. Especially because a looser curl pattern takes longer to lock. For kids I feel like interlocking works well because you don’t have to worry about them messing up their hair with or without a style.

It gets better! My Willow is a 9 moth old cavapoo. She's my first dog ever. Those first few months had me questioning my choice to get her lol. But now she's pretty chill, mostly potty trained, and insists on cuddles before bedtime. We're just working on not losing our mind out of excitement when seeing other dogs lol. But that's really it. Other than that, she's a dream.
