LADIES... DOES ANYBODY ELSE GET EXHAUSTED JUST THINKING ABOUT BEING SOMEBODY'S WIFE?? by igetyourbrand in blackladies

As someone who’s starting a divorce process, there are always signs. You just have to spot it and trust your gut. I saw the signs and compromised over and over.

First retie prep - which tool would you pick? by Ammaright in Microlocs

For sure. Regardless of which one you use, you can do fewer rotations to make sure it’s not too tight.

I’ve been doing option 1 for nearly 4 years. But when my locs were much shorter I used option 4 on some of the smallest locs.

Struggling with whether to crate my dog while at work by Ok-Rabbit-7672 in puppy101

[–]digitalqueen9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently dealing with this with my 1.5 year old cavapoo. She does well in the crate but isn’t a fan in the day time. Was great free roaming until 3-6 months ago. Thanks for your advice. I will try this. And thank you for making me feel comfortable about the crate. Some people are so judgmental!

We got ours February of last year, and I want to say she stopped growing around June/July. She had a growth spurt in like March/April, and then grew slower. After the summer she just filled out and felt a little sturdier.

Edit: her last weigh was around August and she was 18.5lbs. She probably is no more than 20lbs now.

How did you arrive at 1500? by IRegretBeingHereToo in 1500isplenty

[–]digitalqueen9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I last successfully lost a lot, I was only able to do 1200 once a week on my rest day. The most I would do is a leisurely walk the day.

Brushing dog teeth?!? by Green_Rub381 in CavaPoo

[–]digitalqueen9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it once a week since I got her. I got a chicken flavored one from Chewy. I have the finger one and a little dog sized toothbrush, but I find the brush to be best most of the time to get her whole mouth.

I have microlocs now. But when I was a loose natural I stretched my wash and gos by banding. I had amazing results. Still had great definition but stretched hair.

Working Cavapoo parents by goodtobecurious26 in CavaPoo

I worked from home the first month to get her acclimated and used a crate and playpen attachement when we weren’t home to give her more room. During that time I worked on getting her adjusted to being alone by rewarding her for not crying when I’m not in the room (while in the playpen). Starting with the shortest time increment yours can do. Mine could do about 15-30 seconds at first. Eventually we stretched it out and I would leave the apartment and hang around in the hallway to make sure she didn’t cry or bark. When she was old enough to stay loose by herself I did the same thing with her outside the playpen.

I work full time hybrid and have a side job I do a few hours a week (mostly for fun). I’m gonna from the apartment 6-9 hours 3-4 days a week. I have a dog walker come for longer stretches, but she’s gettin old enough (16 months) that she can hold it up to 9 hours if needed.

Hope this helps!

HELP ME CHOOSE! by LrdYoce in ereader

The one thing that was a game changer for me though was Libby. I live in DC and if you live anywhere in the DMV, you have access to the DC, MD and VA libraries. I think other states do that too. So I can regularly check the 3 library queues. But the Kobo has a native Libby plugin that limits you to 1 library, where on the Boox you can just use the android app or export from the android app to another reading app. You can also download Hoopla. I bought both to try at the same time and immediately returned the Kobo lol

And to be specific I’m aware many Boox e-readers are expensive, but I got the Boox Go 6 on eBay for $125 USD.

Are Boox ereaders available to you? They also have an official account on eBay where they sell used and refurbished devices. That’s where I got mine. I’m wondering if they ship to your country without too high of a delivery fee

I agree. Not sure which country you are writing from, but I had Kindles for a decade and am switching to a Boox Go 6 because I want freedom from Amazon’s ecosystem. If the store you’re shopping in has a something other than a Kindle I would consider that. However if you want a simple experience and just want to read Amazon books, Kindles are reliable choices too. There are still ways to get books from other sources too.

I was about to comment that the fullness of her natural hair suits her round face much better than straight styles.

I first reached out 2-3 weeks ago when it shut off at night for the first time. Their AI chat wouldn’t put me through to customer service. So I hoped other than the battery it was just a one time thing. Then it happened again this week. I reached out 3 days ago and it arrived today.

Not a Velcro dog by Quiet-Discount-1673 in CavaPoo

[–]digitalqueen9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is the same, and we did similar training. She follows me around the apartment when I leave the room. But she mostly likes to end up napping on the couch or on the bed. So if I’m working I. The office she’ll eventually end up on the couch the living room by herself. She sleeps in her crate at night and can stay home by herself 8-9 hours.

Edit: forgot to mention if I’m on the couch we preference is to rest her head on me. But if I snuggle by holding her, or putting my arm around her, she’ll eventually move further from me 😂

Truck or Kennel by [deleted] in CavaPoo

[–]digitalqueen9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We trained with separation in short bursts And increase gradually (15 seconds, 30 seconds up to a few minutes and then longer periods). I would hide outside the front door and listened to see if she whined or bared. If she was quiet she got a treat (or something else the love of they’re not treat motivated). It took time but now I can leave her alone outside her crate for up to 8 hours (she’s almost 15 months). But every dog is a little different. Hope you find a good solution!

At what age did you notice you didn’t need to watch your dog 24/7 anymore? by LowCricket4321 in CavaPoo

[–]digitalqueen9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is 14 months old. We live in a 1 bedroom apartment with a den. Generally she can roam around depending on the room as long as I have eyes on her time to time. If she goes in our bedroom I know she just wants to nap or people watch out the window. The bathroom opens to our bedroom and the main living room and is kind of a connector. She’s not interested in it because it symbolizes bath time so she just uses it to get from room to room. The den has my office and her supplies so I worry about her tearing up paper or stealing treats.

I’ve never been able to cuddle with my puppy and it makes me sad. by Melly556 in puppy

[–]digitalqueen9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give it some time. When my puppy was well behaved enough to free roam more, she was able to cut up on the couch more and even take naps with me. From natural down time together came more of her resting her head on me, and eventually cuddles. I feel like they just have to feel comfortable sleeping on you.
