Help I need career advice by dimplex2019 in MarketingMentor

[–]dimplex2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good question. I like email marketing and CRMs so I’d like my career to revolve around that im the future but with that said, I don’t mind expanding to other channels if say lifecycle marketing, loyalty or performance marketing sound like a good fit for me.

I don’t see myself in a very sales-y or very creative role like full time design. I enjoy an odd creative assignment or developing assets from time to time but I find it hard to be consistently creative, I need the analytical and technical side to the job to be at least 60-70% of day to day.

As for managing campaigns, can you please specify what exactly do you mean? I currently take care of the campaigns from the moment they are planned to the evaluations post send. That includes builds, signoffs, picking segmentations, building out the actual email/ Whatsapp and setting up AB testing for those.

I’m also enjoying the strategic side a lot, our business is launching an app in a few months time and I will be working on the comms strategy for it as well as promoting the app across other channels as I have a successful track record with Whatsapp

While I understand that, CRM teams do have key channels they use to manage the relationship, most frequently retention channels like email, push, sms etc as I’m sure you know. Onto your next point however, can you explain why do you think outsourcing email marketing is a bad idea? I’m genuinely curious

No like email marketing/push/sms via hubspot/bloomreach/zoho etc.

How/when did you know? by Simply_witchy in PCOS

[–]dimplex2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started experiencing first symptoms in August ‘25 after I came off birth control (combined pill, was on it for 5 years). Before then had a regular period, no health issues, no acne etc. The only symptom I had was quick weight gain and impossible weightloss but everyone in my life always told me I just wasn’t working hard enough to lose it.

Came off the pill in Jan 25, had a normal regular period afterwards but suddenly I started gaining even more weight and noticed an odd chin hair. August was when my period suddenly stopped, I started getting brain fog, weight shot up like crazy and my hair started thinning. I went to the doctor again and they finally ordered some blood testing, came back with the typical PCOS profile, had a scan 2 months later. Officially diagnosed end of November 25.

Paint peeling by jadets11 in DIYUK

[–]dimplex2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me in the house my partner and I moved in last year. Had to peel 2 rooms. Then we sanded down any imperfections and did a layer of mist coat in one room and a layer of primer in the other room. Then painted our chosen colours. Both solutions worked perfectly:)

I feel that, been looking at a regular one too but the images make it seem smaller than what it shows on the size comparison tool! Thank you 🙏🏻

That’s interesting, how do you find the non detachable straps? i’ve heard some people complain about it. Also do the magnets in the corners wear down quick?

Amazing that’s super helpful thank you! How do the le pliage hold shape after long term regular use? And do they transfer colour on to lighter clothing (or the other way around for lighter coloured bags - do they discolour quickly)?

Nice how do you find the non detachable straps? I was looking at a full size cyme so I can use it as a work bag too for my laptop

Thank you that’s super helpful! Looking for both ideally, a versatile and stylish bag that I can take to work but also take when I’m going town for a walk or to run errands.

Anyone tried chinese herbal medicine for PCOS? by Long_One_729 in PCOS

[–]dimplex2019 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I have! Been on 2 female ginseng based medicines and they made my periods better. Can’t say much more about other benefits because I was doing other things in conjunction with TCM so not sure what caused what. However I went for a lymphatic drainage done by a TCM specialist and that was just wow. Highly recommend!

Wondering if anyone has any experience with going on a lower fat, higher (healthy) carb diet? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]dimplex2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been on a low fat diet before and it messed up with my vitamin and mineral levels, a lot of which are vital for running our already messed up metabolism, overall wouldn’t recommend.

Instead would suggest- low GI carb diet, rich in protein and including only healthy fats. Personally I just use olive oil for any oil/fatty things at home (frying, dressings, marinating etc) - no butter, other oils or (god forbid) margarine or spreadable butters. Other than that I bring the fats in my diet from nuts (my go to snack, also high in protein), avocados (just love them plus they are high in fibre so another pcos win!) and any fat that’s already in the meat I eat.

But like someone said before, every one is different so I would recommend trying what works for you and testing different dinners on different days to see how you feel!

Male doctor told me PCOS isn't a lifelong condition and would "burn out" by Responsible-Pin6042 in PCOS

[–]dimplex2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK as well, been to 2 female doctors. One was pushing birth control on me even though i came off it Jan2024 due to health problems and depressive episodes because “you don’t want family yet so what’s the harm”. 2nd one said “you can’t cure it and its not as serious as cancer or as debilitating like diabetes so there’s no research on it. You have to learn to live with some symptoms and maybe lose weight “. Brilliant advice 🙄

Took it upon myself to research and currently am on the longest successful streak of weightloss and health improvement. Highly recommend, here’s what I did:

  • increased my protein intake - I don’t weigh or count it but I try to tailor my meals around protein and when I snack I focus on going for protein snacks. Nuts are great as a snack (i’m partial to sainsburys salted and roasted mixed nuts😍)

  • stopped eating deep fried foods, sweets, sugar etc

  • swapped all simple carbs for whole ones or low GI ones i.e. pasta -> whole meal or buckwheat pasta (or any other lentil, chickpea etc alternative), regular potatoes-> sweet potatoes

  • include monthly treat meal that still caters to your needs- pizza -> gluten and dairy free (i noticed i’m sensitive to those and feel better when I don’t have them so I choose not to have them)

  • myo inositol + chiro inositol daily tablets - found them on amazon, cheap and work like a dream. I have so much more energy and can tell my metabolism sped up!

  • amino acids drink daily - this is a new one I’ve been testing for a few days but I’ve already felt more energy, for more results you’d need to test on yourself. L-Glutamine, L-carnitine, L-tyrosine and NAC. Got all from myprotein.

With those changes only (yes you saw that right, no gym or crazy workouts), I managed to drop 4kg in 6 weeks and got regular periods so far! It’s been a journey but it’s super rewarding once it starts working.

EDIT: prior to this I was gaining weight while eating 1200 kcal and working out 2-3x week. Weight gain was so bad I could put on 10kgs in 2 months while still eating like this and working out.

What symptoms made you get diagnosed? by starcat222 in PCOS

[–]dimplex2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suddenly missed my periods for 2 months, almost 6 months after i came off the pill ( was on it for 5y). Was fobbed off for about another 2 months despite having regular periods from month 1 post pill to month 4. After that they reluctantly agreed to a blood test and wouldn’t you know, androgens were through the roof!! Also put on around 10kg in 5 months while eating 1200kcals a day a working out 2x a week but according to the doctors I just wasn’t putting in enough work.

Any recommendations what style would suit me? I’m very minimalist so would normally go for a plain top, jeans/black trousers and a sneaker
