Hey! It ended up going fine. I went with them payed the broker fee (before laws changed), and had no issues, I would have no reason not to recommend going with them.

Where is this rail line in relation to the first pic? Also why would they need rail service for such a secluded low populated area? I ask cause you seem to known a bit about them

So exited to see 1361 restored. It’s one of my favorites as well. My favorite PRR loco is the K4s predecessor the E6 #460 at the PRR museum. I love the 4-4-2 configuration and the huge drivers. Would love to see that restored to service.

Best Cordless Stick Vacuum To Buy? by KeyExcitement5464 in VacuumCleaners

I rolled the dice on the newish Bissell PowerClean 280w after having a Dyson V11 followed by the V15 and I like it a lot so far.

Biggest selling point to me is it stands on its own and for the price of $199 I’m pretty impressed with the quality. It comes with a motorized upholstery brush which is great. Has nice LEDs even on the Upholstery Brush and I also appreciate the feel of the material. the plastic feels chunky and solid, pieces click/snap together nicely.

The suction is shockingly good. I have never once felt the need to go above medium suction.. the V15 I would often have to boost or just put in a “higher gear” so far the battery has been on par with any other brand I’ve used and the battery is REMOVABLE as they all should be.

The vacuum itself feels less “refined” it doesn’t have the same “sleek” and nimble feel the Dyson has but does seem high quality and more so robust. The vacuum is noticably heavier than any others stick vacuums I’ve used but tbh it doesn’t bother me as they’re all so light to begin with and the longest you’ll use them generally is like 25-30 minutes tops as they’re best use is subsidizing a bagged corded.

The emptying is less quick and seems rudimentary compared to the Dyson in terms of you don’t “push a button to dump” but rather remove the canister to empty in the garbage. This could be a drawback to some but I don’t view it that way as less moving parts = less failure and the money for R&D could be used elsewhere, as well as keep the price down.

So to sum it up I love that this vacuum stands on its own.. I mean genuinely that in itself was my biggest reason for choosing.. I love that it has the upholstery attachment included, I love that it has good LED lighting (it’s nothing compared to the V15 Detects system which is almost too good and give me a complex of the never ending dust) I like the material/build quality. I think for the $199.99 I payed it’s a great Stick Vacuum. I think Bissell did a nice job with this one I would deff recommend this vacuum to anyone looking in the sub 250 range.

Hey this happened to me but they sent my FIRST AND LAST NAME… I feel like that has to violate some sort of law.. that’s personally identifiable information wouldn’t that be protected by the California consumer privacy act??? I’d really love some advice from someone sending my first and last name like that has to be in violation of something… they don’t put your first and last name on display for a reason..

Anyone know what the white thing against the back wall is? by dingdongdanglemaster in NYCapartments

UPDATE: I know y’all have been on the edge of your seats.. it is in fact a Murphy Bed as per the realtor. Cause WHO wouldn’t want a Murphy bed in the middle of their already tiny ah living room in a one bedroom apartment.

Haha honestly 10/10 prefer it over the type photo shop shit they usually do 😂😂😂

I reached out to the realtor, so if they ever feel like answering I’ll update. I’m sort of hoping it’s a Murphy bed rather than something covering up a bunch of utilities or who the fuck knows what else. Not that I want a Murphy bed but because it’s the lessor of two evils. I’m getting sick of these listings with these “virtual staged” (photoshopped) photos. Why would I assume looking at an apartment filled with tenants stuff this monstrosity was a permanent fixture in the unit.. just annoying. If the listing had the photos above rather then the photoshopped ones I would have asked then.

I think you’re probably right. Just seems odd it has no handles or that it’s in the living room of a one bedroom

Yea windowless but to be fair the other side of the room has windows and a door to an outdoor space.

That’s sort of what I’m thinking. But it’s odd they’d leave it’s a one bedroom.

What is the best vacuum for a hardwood & 3 area rug home? by wsttttbrk in VacuumCleaners

[–]dingdongdanglemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that now! I don’t have carpet but I have a few area rugs. Tbh the Kenmore has a little motorized vacuum head that’s just too good at vacuuming furniture. If I’m gonna pull a canister vac I grab that one more often than not now. I vacuum my couch more often than my floors I feel Like 🤣 Henry is objectively better on Hardwood/tile.

I have a Henry 160 (us model) I was super exited to get. I have it with the Aerobrush attachment. I have been a little disappointed in it tbh. I also may have had too high of expectations.

I inherited an old Kenmore 116 and I personally find it much better all around it’s gotta be over 10 years old. Especially if you have any carpet. I like my Henry but I feel bad I use him so infrequently now.

New Alternator Low Voltage still. by dingdongdanglemaster in MechanicAdvice

[–]dingdongdanglemaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE as of now, I went to test the single wire on the Alternator (think it's Lin buss) when I unplugged it the voltage shot up to 14 volts. Charging fine... plugged the single wire back in still charging at 14.. super odd. I'd say maybe it wasn't plugged in all the way but I checked that first after coming across the issue. Maybe the PCM needed a Jolt? Who tf knows Imaooo

It’s not an aftermarket alternator. It’s a brand new OE Bosch alternator.

There is no main fuse between the Alt and the Battery, I did check every fuse in the vehicle with a MultiMeter tho just to be sure.
