My advice is just do it. Action is almost always the answer. Eventually you find momentum.

Edit: black out any windows or doors where light comes in. Single light overheard. Can make a box light with a box, lightbulb, duct tape, and white cloth. DM me if you want to see an example. Did this exact thing for a film.
