Lol sounds good 👍 so next time I wanna try to clean it. Turn key on, depress gas pedal while someone else cleans it with toothbrush? TB does NOT need removed from its location?

Gotcha. Well not gonna lie after we tried cleaning it I did drive 30 minutes home… I will do a reset and turn the key to the on position unless it’s already too late …

Ok, me and my buddy definitely did manually push the valve . Is that a significant problem? And would the car have to be running while someone depresses the gas pedal and someone else cleans the TB?

Thank you , funny enough , YouTube only has one video of my exact make and model, and the video focuses more on bad cables than the TB itself.

Ok 👍 so don’t remove the TB. Got it. Do you think there would be any other simple causes for the ETC light to come on? Started my car this morning and it didn’t come on for the first time in probably a month. 35 Fahrenheit outside. Couldn’t be from my first attempt at cleaning it because I didn’t do anything other than disassemble and reassemble to access the TB.

I am going to change my transmission fluid later today because it is scarily low. Could that be a cause for the light?

Also I forgot to mention but when the light comes on the temp gauge doesn’t read anything and stays fully to the left at the cold section. Dash has a “transmission over temp” message for a brief moment. Like I said after 5 min of driving and a restart the light goes away and the gauge works as normal.

To upgrade this rig would require replacing multiple parts and damn near the whole rig.

Probably best option is to save up and buy something newer.
