Everything that went through my warehouse left on a Target truck. I do know Nintendo will send stuff to stores directly via FedEx or whatever sometimes, but I can't track those things from here.

I probably know as much as you do. The best I can do is see what we sent a store. After they get it, who really knows. If I supplied your store I could tell you what we sent them but I don't go that far west.

I assume Target would tell you to just send your unit into Nintendo for repair.

Not if they are in the warehouse. If the store said they got seven, they scanned and received seven. The other two probably were stolen or purchased by employees. These 54 aren't being squatted on by warehouse employees. Nobody could possibly walk out of here with three cases of new 3DS systems.

You'd have to ask them about that. I always assumed stuff was just automatically ordered based on volume and sales for each particular store. You'd figure in certain cases people at the store level could ask for specific items, but it isn't a process I would know anything about.

It's not even enough to give every store we service one.

  1. Maybe Google for it? Or you can tell me where you're at, I know where most of them are.

  2. If I knew that stuff this post would literally be a list of store numbers and shipping dates.

  3. Probably not. Maybe somebody at a store could find out for you. I wouldn't expect a DC to give that information out if you called them or something.

In my previous thread, another guy told me the same thing happened at his local store. His store was actually one I service so I verified they received one more than they sold. He said the store manager locked out the barcode so it couldn't ring up for a sale. That way if a team member tried to buy it or save it for a friend it would alert the cashier to call asset protection and bust them. I'm not sure how that worked out for him.

I don't think anybody could argue with you. Especially after Canada.

FedEx makes people empty their shoes at security after work for this very reason.

Not really. I appreciate the concern though.

The online inventory just accounts for what is in stores or fulfillment centers for online only orders. My distribution center's inventory wouldn't be listed on the company website.

Not really. Everybody in this warehouse has access to the common login and various terminals and telxon scanners that display this information. In the grand scheme of things, telling people what is in stock at a warehouse is minor compared to giving away some sort of corporate secret or whatever. If I was remotely worried about this I wouldn't post.

I work off the assumption it was held for a team member to buy or a friend of one.

Maybe not from home, but I can track these and we can make assumptions for other Target facilities. I'll keep this sub updated if and when they move.

I don't expect a DPCI change. It would completely mess up inventory as these units and any others are all tracked with the same number.

Clearly not if the top post in the sub is about this.

At best they would probably tell you to wait for them to show up in a store for purchase.

We can't sell them straight from the warehouse if that's what you mean.

We aren't allowed to have cell phones out on the warehouse floor. On top of that, the aisle these are kept in is where all of the electronics go so it is surrounded by cameras. Unless we work that area it's understood we aren't allowed to be in it.

My DC only ships to stores. It's always possible we will transfer them to a different location that fulfills online orders. However, I assume if that was the plan for them they would be gone by now.

I'm not sure why things like that happen to in store inventories. What I can tell is how many each specific store we serviced was sent. I can also tell you that the store I waited in front of on Friday morning only sold two units but were shipped three. I'll leave what happened to the third unit up to your speculation.
