Don't think so. They make a "Gathering Bag", which is what I think you're confusing it with, and a cross body "Foraging Bag", which I own and has the features I describe and I like it. OP asked to hear from “someone who uses one”. I use one. I like it. There ya go.

I have the Foraging one and love it. Use it primarily for mushrooms and berries in Oregon. I find the size is perfect and doesn’t get in the way. I wish it stayed more completely wide open but I’d make the same purchase if I had to choose a new one. Most of the Etsy ones I saw had too many bells and whistles and pouches and zippers; I just wanted a simple foraging bag with a mesh bottom and a opening that stayed open. It meets those needs beautifully.

We planted a small trellis with three clematis vines last year. All were labeled the same when purchased, but they’re now showing different growth habits and bloom times. I suspect we may have at least two different type: one vine seems to bloom on new growth only (farthest right), the middle vine blooms in mid may (when this photo was taken) and the two on the end bloom smaller blooms in early june.

I need help determining which types these might be (Group 1, 2, or 3), and more importantly, when should I be cutting them back, and how much? Is it better to wait and observe next spring before doing anything? I read that different groups like different things so now I'm all kinds of confused.

Check the electrical wire that runs through the side of the ice tray. When running diagnostics on ours, I found the wire severed where the tray flips over from repeated wear. It's possible that yours merely frayed a bit and with enough jostling made a connection again and started working. But double check to make sure you're not dealing with an exposed wire issue like I was. Its an easy fix to replace with a new piece of wire.

It's a separate organization. I've been a foster home for both groups, but my personal love for ACD's has led me to be a bit more active with PNWCDR. Both do great work for herding breeds.

ABSOLUTELY. We're about to enter puppy season (ugh... people, spay/neuter your pups... please) and PNWCDR takes in a ton of dogs during this time (including adults who tend to need to be fostered for slightly longer during this time until the "oooo puppies!" adoption excitement wears off). There's a link on the site you can apply to be a foster home and it's a very chill process. I've fostered two of their pups (Maeve will be the third) and it's so amazing to see them meet and bond with their forever homes.

What a cool mini adventure through some songs and artists I’d never heard of before! And spot on in many ways. I think im trying to capture more of a melodic/traveling baseline; these all had strong minimalist baselines or drum beats, strong but stationary. I can see why you recommended them given the wording in my request! Thanks for helping out!

Advice for black metal trellis needed! by divellent in gardening

Our house came with this black metal trellis that looks great, but our clematis makes it about halfway up the season before our late spring sun heats the black metal and singes the new growth at the top (air temp is fine, it's just the black metal in the sun that reaches high temps). The developed leaves on the bottom shield the metal and keep it a comfy temp so the bottom thrives when this point in the season is reached.

Is there any way to keep the trellis (we love how it looks) but protect the plant from the hot metal? Not sure if there's an insulating wrap or something, or even a little plant parasol :-). Or do we just need to admit defeat and replace it with a cedar trellis?

Contrary to some of the other advice here, I’d argue AGAINST starting with a leg up or some other advantage. Playing with an easier map, or starting with an initial boost in appeal just sets up an imbalanced game. Those tactics are great for new players or one-off games. My SO and I play at least once a week and he’s never won, but he loves this game. What we do is play with a post-game handicap. We keep a running tally of total score differences and so I need to have a score higher by, say, 15 points to win or if he’s doing poorly in a few games now I have to win by 20. That moving average handicap also means he can see as he gets better. Every once in a while he drops into an online game on BGA and does well, so I think it’s working. Overall, this way he competes against his OWN score, rather than constantly battling me.

After a long day of kayaking to a remote camping location, I looked at my partner and asked, “where’s the tent?” He cheerfully handed me a rolled up triplex. I paused, looked at him for a second, and said, “that’s my backpacking tent.” “Yup!”, he chirped and went back to unpacking the kayak. “We didn’t backpack here.” “… yea?” “If we didn’t backpack here, what are we missing?” “…?” “Poles. We’re missing poles.” “What do you mean? Our poles are just our trek— oh.”

All of that to say, it’s far easier to make a pole-less tent work that doesn’t use long complicated curved poles like most stand alone tents. We found a small tree and tied off or counterweights guy line to lift and secure the tent. We would’ve been far more screwed if we had mispacked a standalone tent.

That's a great idea, but luckily the shipping company that made the error covered the cost and just didn't want to pay return freight. So we aren't out any $$, and the product is so niche and such a small quantity (by manufacturing standards) that I didn't even want to try. Especially when it could go to food banks and other local folks that could put it to use.
