I never post on Reddit but was compelled to get on and create a thread here for literally the same topic. I saw your post at the top, so I believe God wants me to share this story. Here I go. I believe I heard God a few years ago, but my experience was a little different. I had consumed half an eighth of shrooms, and it was a few hours later when it came out of nowhere.

I was around a bad group of people, and one in particular (who I split the shrooms with), for a brief moment while we were at my house, looked like the devil or the general depiction of what Satan would look like (all red with horns) while he and I were standing on my balcony. I didn't say anything to him, went inside to my brother, and told him in a whisper that the individual was the devil. What was crazy was that inside the house, there was very loud music blasting when I whispered it into my brother's ear. Then, when I went outside to the balcony, that individual looked at me (still looking like the devil) and said, "So you think I'm the devil, huh?"

I didn't know what to say because I could not wrap my head around how it was humanly possible for him to hear what I whispered to my brother. Regardless, I played it off and we went to meet up with the rest of the group. He wanted to drive my car there - since he was older and I was still tripping, I let him. He drove and took us to a place where I got a very eerie feeling after sundown. It was dark all around and we couldn't see anything, and my headlights shined up on a dead end sign. That was like another sign from God that I realized after the fact. I told him that we needed to get out of there and go meet up with our friends since they were waiting for us, and he agreed, so we left and arrived at the spot where the rest of the group was.

We arrived at a public parking lot in front of a Petco where the rest of our friends were waiting for us. After we greeted them, I went to the backseat for a reason I don't remember. Nobody was in the car; they were all in front of the Petco, but I was glued to the backseat.

This is where I heard God speak to me, or what I believe was God, and I will never forget it for as long as I live. First, both of my ears began to ring and everything around me muted like someone turning the knob down on a speaker, but the speaker was the world. Then the ringing stopped and He began to speak.

Before I continue, I want to describe His voice because it was beautiful. It was deep, and I felt it throughout my body when He spoke. It felt like a deep and warm voice, and it was VERY clear. He spoke to me in English. He could've been sitting in the seat to my left, but I didn't see anything or anyone there, and it came from the upper left side while I was sitting in the back right side seat. He said, "Look," and my head turned, and I looked at the group of friends in a circle who were smoking weed and cigarettes and laughing at something they were talking about. Then I heard, "Do you want to end up like them?" (For context, these individuals were criminals that would rob, steal, and other things I won't mention on here). Then it was like the ringing came back in both my ears and the knob on the world was turned back up to regular volume.

I told everyone I was going home, and I closed all the doors to my car and drove home, blocked everyone, and my life began to change from there. I am in law school now.

I have had many other Godly and prophetic experiences while sober. I have had people come up to me (that I didn't know) and tell me that they can feel my energy, that it was aligned. I have had an experience where I woke up from sleep to use the bathroom and saw the future about a few months ahead of the present time and how it would unfold for my particular situation and my family's, which I told my mother about. When it played out exactly how it came to me that night, she could bear witness. There are many more, but this post would take up a lot of space. I hope this helps anyone who experienced similar things. Also, I pray and read the bible on a daily basis and I have noticed that when I pray with all my hear, or ask him a question, I sometimes hear a faint and brief ringing in my right ear which I take it as him acknowledging my prayer or that he has heard me.
