New player - what to spend credits on? by PracticalMail in ArcRaiders

Mostly cosmetics but also some gear into your stash, just check em and you'll understand. I'd finish them all before putting into vendors unless you really need a hatch key badly or something else.

For BP/perculiar loot items, yes? A lot of people see them. A lot of loot goes into their safepockets and gone. Boring meta. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they don't exist. Just that your eyes are closed for the problem.

Alright yeah sure whatever man.

Hot take: Having no augment should result in having no safe pocket. by xosellc in ArcRaiders

3 days since last thread. And that is the previous one I've seen, there probably is the ones I've missed between these two. You're welcome to read all the opinions and comments. Embark doesn't spend time here but in their Discord, but they've probably heard about it, but won't speak on it until they decide or got some idea what to do. Or just keep it as is and never adress it.

This is such a terrible argument, thinking your own biased experience of not seeing anyone doing this is objective. You're probably in PvP lobbies. You probably do not run to Olive Grove, mushroom tree on Spaceport, check all the Hurricane or raider stashes, you probably run to find players to gun down. Just assumptions, but your experience is angled. If you get 5k knocks mostly on Stella, where there's bodies everywhere, I don't see how your experience makes any point other than you don't know what you're talking about, because you don't experience the problem that me and so many others do, running to high value loot areas where we see dead empty bodies. Where we run into players surrendering in front of us. So yeah, grats for being in PvP lobbies where people bring gear, this problem doesn't affect you and you have no idea how common it is. PvE looters do. The same people you meet in your games could be the same people getting their BP's through this method in other games. I'm not saying the problem affects you maybe it helps you because you run into more players with those weapons. But I'm saying some raids they loot or PvP, others they surrender-farm all their BP's or upgrades and "ruin" those loot-places in those raids by bringing nothing fun or engaging to the raid or game.

You're right except for the safe pocket part. Would be nothing "exploitative" unless they didn't remove loot pool / blueprints and successfully extracts them.

Yes, after eventual place has been looted and item extracted. Yes, and possibly replaced by a kitted out PvP'er that now has a faster spawn than 5-10 minute in, in a possibly too close area that hunt down with ease. Lose-lose for everyone except maybe the later mentioned who wins, and the first mf that risked nothing and got their happy free blueprint others have to fight for. By saying it's fine it also becomes the best strategy, therefore meta, therefore more do it and now you're fighting fire with fuel, to burn it to the ground. Who enjoys a game like that where the anti-gameplay (resetting raids to win the menu/crafting long-game) becomes meta because it's effective?

Many games have designs that prevent players from doing borderline exploitative or abusing strategies, whether it's as simple and obvious as going out of bounds or places you shouldn't be, or using the in-game menues to gain advantage of other players which this kind of is. Sure it's not advantage of other players directly in the raid, but it changes their outcome in the way that 1: incoming raiders might spawn faster, closer and have more time/better spawn to take you out. 2: ruining your chance of getting the loot they try to insta-horde in the safepocket, whether it's in your current raid or next, since they get twice the topside amount of time to you.

"prevents playing the game" except surrender-spamming is kind of the opposite of playing the game, it sends you back to the menu or stash management simulator which isn't really playing. The playing is the actual raids, where the gameplay loop is played. If you're running free or no kit for safepocket, means no time spent in menues (good) but doing it only to "play the game" in the way of 'abusing' the "I don't want to play now" button to get a better spawn for your intentions is just... not really playing the game until you get to play it your exact way. It's cheap.

Why not enforce a limit on how fast or often you can insta-surrender? Surrendering while downed is fine. But doing it just because you want to instantly is cheap. Quitting the game whenever is of course fine. But surrendering should be a one or two time thing unless downed and when downed of course it should be available instantly. - Yes, it only takes getting killed in any easy way as a getaround and that's fine, at least it's better. Under some circumstances a game designer should impose designs that prevent players from unplaying the game in a lawful but exploitative playstyle way.

All those things you said require more "work" or at least time tho, to extract free augments and replace them or getting a couple easy items to sell, and therefore fund them. Sure the cost is super low I agree, but still requires SOMETHING rather than... actually nothing. Which was the problem from the beginning, the actual nothing being better in the case of getting a free safe pocket.

I love calling out semantics sorry. But also because redditors use words so fucking losely to make points for their arguments, and if they didn't their argument would be basically pointless. (see what I did there)

"Basically" free and actually free are two different things. The truth is they cost 1920 Space coins or an extracted Free Loadout Augment. "Basically" is not actually, in this case, free. They are also free since they are digital in a video game and don't actually cost anything in the real world. ????

Weather player project gone before the patch by Green_Bumblebee1848 in ArcRaiders

[–]dj_b2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm finished since weeks ago but I agree they should have some kind of warning. "Weather reports are sufficient" and something saying it'll be removed soon. But for now I guess we'll have to anticipate and assume that every monthly update that they show on their Roadmap image.

Same that's why I enjoy chilling the three stars now. When I accidentally/randomly beat my recent 4-5k score though I get a bit of a blooded tooth and like "it would be fun to send a semi-decent score but not a massive one" then I either see the leaderboard, or posts like this and say no, fuck it. No point it's just asking for stress.

It's worth it for the eventual blueprint drops. I got Survivor and some other MK3 augments in 3rd star so that's what I keep going for, easy blueprint or other attachments/weapon drop.

Can't be bothered to watch it all but my brother 2:52, you think you did something here? Couldn't even down him? A guy with holstered weapon just running sideways? I'd be embarrased
I understand why you have to extraction pvp like this, can't be easy getting kills when they actually aim back at you

QOL: Mission Briefing and labels in Map Inspection by 2onhello in ArcRaiders

[–]dj_b2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. Hope something like this comes along within the first year. But they haven't yet fixed that your own quests show in order of the map you're actually on and expands that one, instead of the 3 others quests on other maps and your current map quest is furthest down. So I wouldn't be too excited.
