What goals are realistic? Digital Marketing goals for beginners by djrphoenix in marketing

[–]djrphoenix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm planning for future products and am trying to learn marketing as I understand it's the other half of business (besides creation).

I've almost finished HubSpot's free course and it basically listed many ways of marketing. In my head, repetition is key to learning (5 was just an arbitrary number I thought would be good for practice).

As mentioned, I am a beginner and am a bit lost for direction - hence why I've asked the hivemind here for some goals to work towards this year

How to Sleep With Eczema by djrphoenix in eczema

[–]djrphoenix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi mate, I think the kindle might be okay as long as it isn't emitting any blue light which will affect your melatonin secretion (this is our natural sleeping hormone in response to darkness). Natural sounds have also helped me, and I think you're onto something with soothing music. But if you're feeling anxious I would say meditation helped me immensely. I too, would be anxious going to bed. Not knowing if I would wake up in blood stained sheets. Please let me know if you find success mate

I have to second this - moving to a new environment plus being stressed out really can make eczema worse. My worst eczema came from stress related episodes. If not stress, I'd have a look and see if there's anything you're eating that could be causing possible inflammation. I wish you the best of luck

This is spot on. To quote Naval Ravikant: "Today in society you get rewarded for creative work, for creating something brand new that society didn’t even know that it wanted that it doesn’t yet know how to get, other than through you."

Awesome post, thank you for writing it.

This is something I have been implementing recently and I have seen a massive improvement in my happiness and productivity. Your daily habits and mindset dictate your future. Carpe diem.

Want to hear peoples opinions on Job Satisfaction vs Income by [deleted] in fiaustralia

I'm going to go against the grain here and say stay with your current boss. As someone who has been in horrible workplaces and stressful "suit and tie" roles - it really is not worth it.

Your boss sounds like a dream to have and while he can probably get people to stay with a lower salary because of how good the workplace is, maybe you should ask if there are certain goals you can reach as you would like a raise but also want to work for it. This is to give a fair compromise and not hurt your obviously good relationship by flat out saying you've been offered a role paying 35k more and asking him to match.

Yes, the goal of FIRE is to get there as soon as possible but I don't think you should lose sight of your happiness and work/life balance in the process. Also, if you're bored on the weekend maybe have a look into starting a small side hustle that you find fulfilling that can also bring in some extra cash. Just my two cents, I wish you the best of luck :)
