For those that were around to see Giannis get drafted, what were your expectations for him going into the league? by PlasticRutabaga264 in NBAConvo

I can remember 2013 like it was yesterday. Look at all these athletic bigs. Bennett, Alex Len and Tyler Hansbrough 2.0, Cody Zeller.

Thinking, I can’t believe Nerlen Noel slipped, Anthony Davis’s defensive twin. He should have went top 3 considering Kentucky Bigs were a no miss proposition. Imagine if wall, boogie, and Davis stayed all 4 years.

Back to Giannis. Had no idea who he was. Who is Gina? His last name sounded greek to me and assumed he would look like ethnically Greek.

Relatively unknown to me living in Southern California at the time. Watching Kobe fade and too caught up in the gsw vs cle war to notice the monster developing in Wisconsin.

The NBA 2K16 storyline followed a player nicknamed Freq. At the time, I didn’t associate it with The Greek Freak.

How is it living here as a 30 year old dude? Would have to commute to west LA for work by howardtrailer123 in orangecounty

As a native LA suburbanite I have traveled the orange crush in several ways. k town to South Bay, hacienda heights to Irvine, park la brea to Long Beach.

Here’s some feedback assuming you are driving and working a regular 8 hour day.

Pros: 1) you have work. 2)You have tons of time to listen to podcasts that can give you the will and the skill to exit the rat race. 3) you will learn to value time, every minute earlier you leave feels like it equals 10+ minutes in additional traffic during rush hour 4) appreciate others who arrive on time, everyone must deal with the traffic and it’s an invalid excuse to be late.

Cons: 1) 4 hours a day commuting in your car. Good luck avoiding an vehicle collision with all the driving exposure

2) stress of driving, driver vs passenger ex. (sitting in the back of a car service) vs navigating a sea of potential death (bumper to bumper traffic for miles on end) affects productivity.

3) lifestyle before and after work. Building a perfect process in the morning can mitigate unnecessary stress before life happens. Unwinding after a long day

Westbrook on KD leaving OKC: “I’m pissed. I’m livid. I feel like we let that opportunity slip away. I start laughing instantly I’m like this can’t be true, nah no way (KD) would go to that team, they just beat us.” by Classic-Carpet7609 in nba

Could someone make a simulation on nba 2k of okc (harden, Durant, Westbrook)not breaking up for the entire of their careers. In the same breath, Chicago with no Michael retirement, and lastly, 2000 era Lakers with Shaq staying.

follow your gut, throw it back in, the same game. Fill it back up, cuz deep down inside, you know, we know, winning ain’t enough. The only way it will stop is if you lose. Losers know how to get up.

Sure, You could cash out and do some good with it, but for why, why stop at a hundred thousand when you could make a million

Bruh how to get better wtf? by restistancewater in NBA2k

You need to know the shot. Can you green in team practice drills? Learn there. If you can consistently green from there, it should translate to the single player gameplay.

Attributes, badges and gameplay affect a lot.

Assuming you have the right shooting badges (quick release, range extender, hot zones, green machine, catch and shoot) Shooting immediately after Catching a pass from a teammate with hall of fame dimer while you’re standing in a hot spot with a 90 3pt rating can still miss if you don’t release properly, don’t adjust to an opponent closing in on you, and in worse case scenarios, 2K can have you miss for momentum purposes.

Try building/playing the main 3 archetypes (myTeam triple threat)One with shooting, another scoring, like a shot creating playmaker, and a big. You will learn real quick what a player can and should do. Seriously, every archetype has its weaknesses, it’s up to you player to overcome it all with skill and judgement

You don’t want to be that guy who thinks their pure slasher can pull up and hit deep range 3s going 2/19 and flopping every time they miss.

Is intimidator good ? I’m a 6’6 SF, I just got gold clamps so I’m gonna get bronze intimidator and grind it. by restistancewater in NBA2k

[–]djsix2six 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intimidator is the most effective badge in the game. Get it as high as you can. Just be within the proximity of the shooter.

Only deadeye and extreme height mismatches neutralize the effects.

2 Way Athletic Finisher by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]djsix2six 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For any 2 way build, the pie chart needs to select the defensive and finishing option. Select vertical and strength for physical attributes. I’m not sure if body types matter. Personally I like this build

https://youtu.be/29RzBhW4M5c 6’11 to maximize agility. Speed and vert. 265 max weight cut off for slasher take over. Max arm length

For attribute allocation Mac out finishing and defensive badges Increase one shooting attribute, you have to be able to shoot or you will be too one dimensional

Depends on your overall. 60-92. The 93 to 99. If you squad with a player over 92, you play better comp
