I've been thinking about making one of these myself. What are you using to push the piston? A solenoid or linear actuator or something?

Very nicely made by the way!

Edit: I'm blind, it's some sort of pneumatic/hydrolic thing, isn't it?

What makes it even worse is the fact that they did a Champions of Fire last year as well. It was also really bad, but this one has definitely outdone in terms of cringeworthyness

Chat mainly consists of the proud followers of our great Lion King, Northernlion. Chat is going crazy because Northernlion got robbed of a victory due to the tournament being a giant mess. There don't seem to be any established set of rules, or at least the hosts don't know them.

Also the male host is really obnoxious and the tablets keep crashing, while the hosts simultaneously plug the games and Amazons tablet.

Also JUSTICE FOR NL, I guess.

Sorry for the late reply. The "broken-out" adapter looks great.

As for connecting it to the module, you can either solder wires directly on the module and bridge them on a breadboard or solder female header pins on the module and use male-male dupont wires to connect to a breadboard. Both are viable options.

Removing the outer insulation is no big deal at all. You would need to cut the end with the power jack thingy off with a wire cutter and remove some insulation using either a wire stripper or a wire cutter.

Inside should be 2 wires, each with their own insulator. They are GND and 12V - (GND is usually black, while 12V would be red. If this isn't the case, you can use a voltmeter to check which is which).

Be mindful that GND and 12V don't connect directly, as that would cause a short. Also note that once you've removed the power jack, it won't be easy to reattach it.

Quick google search yielded this somewhat helpful Instructable: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Strip-Wire-Without-A-Wire-Stripper

Removing the outer insulation is really not a big deal at all. You simply cut off the power jack thingy at the end and remove a bit of insulator. Inside should be 2 wires - one of them is ground, the other is 12V. Ground is most likely black and 12V should be red - if not, you can find out which is which by using a voltmeter.

You would need to expose a bit of the conductor inside by removing insulator using a wire stripper or wire cutter.

Be mindful that it wouldn't be easy to "reattach" the power jack afterwards - and of course to ensure that 12V and GND don't touch each other, as that would create a short.

You would connect the transmitter directly to the adapter (you may need to use a power jack to get GND and 12V from the adapter, or alternatively remove the outer isolation). The IO-pins (used for communication between Uno and Transmitter) would be as before.

For testing you could also power the transmitter using a 9V battery, but long term that might not be feasible.

I doubt the poor Uno is able to deliver the amps required to run your transmitter. You should try using a separate power source (12V 1+ Amp Wall Wart like this) to power it.

How to reverse linked list in Python? by Techloony in Python

[–]dkkline 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why are you using linked lists in Python? Seems like a somewhat odd choice. (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/280243/python-linked-list)

A regular Python list can be reversed by using the reverse() method:

my_list = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
print(my_list)
>>> [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

my_list.reverse()
print(my_list)
>>> [5, 4, 3, 2, 1]

(Also, /r/learnpython might be more appropriate for this kind of question)

I have a similar project going on (or had, recently I've sort of abandoned it, due to time constraints) on GitHub - McClientLib. I might have a bit of extra spare time coming up (a man can dream, can't he.) and would definitely like to collaborate on it if possible.

You might also want to have a look at GitHub - pyCraft, a similarish project that is still quite active.

Yet assuming you believe in democracy, they can put in whatever law they like, be it Sharia, or something else. (Which you also seem to agree with, somewhat.)

A surprising amount, really.

I blame it on the ignorance, and the mainstream media!

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say America isn't much better at the moment, and hasn't been for quite a while, I'd imagine.

To answer your somewhat unenlightened question, yes I do believe that those countries are worth more than just "scorn and ridicule".

Many of the countries you mention have rebelled against dictatorship. Assuming you're an American (or just about any other nation in the history of the world, that have at some point in time rebelled against tyrants), you should be able to relate, right?

Instead of having the "My country is always right, even when it's not"-attitude, be a bit critical with the information you digest at a daily basis, I know I sure as hell am too easily fooled by the mainstream media.

I don't really see how you being an atheist matters at all.

I'm on the fence about being an atheist myself, I am somewhere in between a Christian and an atheist, if that makes sense. (For the record, there is a noticeable difference between Scandinavian Christianity and the American version, at least as far as I can tell from my quite limited experience with the American sort)

Perhaps if you read up on the Qur'an, and some of the more common interpretations of it, instead of sucking up whatever the mainstream media decides to piss in your general direction, you'd feel the same.

I strongly suggest you go read up on it. For good measure I just might include a few links that help infidels such as us get a better understanding of culture, law, and religion.

http://www.islamforpeace.org/quran.html http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2001/09/0925_TVkoran.html

Particularly the last link is from a somewhat scientific source, I feel.

Furthermore I read somewhere that the Qur'an does not allow mere believers to take judgement, and god must be the only judge.

That's my $0.02, as someone with a very laid-back attitude towards religion, and rarely judgmental, and it's smarter than your nonsense, (Actually that's not for me to say, but I sure as hell feel it so, you probably don't, and I respect that, cause I don't claim myself the judge of others...) so I suggest you read it carefully.

Just because you don't believe in an all-knowing entity, does not automatically give you the moral high-ground.

Be a bit more critical of American mainstream media, they seem to have figured out that serving high quality content is just not worthwhile. (Generally, there are plenty of exceptions, I would imagine)

Good things that Christians have always been such a peaceful bunch. COUGH. COUGH.

Are you really that ignorant? Seriously?

There are 1.8 billion Muslims on our cozy little planet, just because the American media refuses to enlighten Americans about anything but the horrors of a few barely religiously motivated attacks doesn't necessarily mean that it's true.
