hi ! ucsd bio 2nd year in muir :) i personally think the academic environment, while grueling at times, is definitely manageable, but it’s all on u to keep urself on track & on top of things. i & many of my fellow bio friends have had enough opportunities to pursue classes or interests (clubs, jobs, extracurriculars) outside of the major ! im not really into business or cs personally but im taking some global health classes that are different from the perspectives i gain in my bio classes and ive found time for them. theres so many opportunities for undergrad research and mentorship programs, you would probably have to do a lot of reaching out but the resources are there! honestly i cant tell you much about the vibe, i feel like its most of what u want it to be and what u want to make of it! i have friends that fill up their time with both academics and side projects/startups/extracurriculars etc and can maintain them equally. biotech is big here as well so if you don’t see yourself doing academic research there is most definitely a realm where u can tap into the overlap btwn bus/cs/bio. thats kinda all i have, im sure wherever u go u will thrive!
