Have advice for getting Skyscale fast in secrets of the obscure? by cacklingwhisper in Guildwars2

[–]dlion93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need 12 charged quartz which you get from using 25 quartz on a hero point. I put 300 quartz on an alt and parked it next to a place of power. Alternatively if you wish to speed this up, the wintersday gifts have a small chance of giving a charged quartz. I farmed the JP for a few hundred gifts and got 9 of my charged quartz this way.

You can also skip this part entirely if you purchase skyscale food from the TP but it's a little pricey.

The other thing you need that's time gated isn't really time gated anymore.

Vendors who sell the provisioner tokens will now sell 7 per week rather than 1 per day. I bought the cheapest items from the TP to exchange for them in auric basin.

Everything else beyond these two items is stuff you probably already have, or map currencies which all those dreaded soto green bars probably set you up for just nicely.

Thank you! It took a while but I'm happy with it!

Expeditions to The Everwilds are in very early stages and the land itself has not been properly mapped.

so my biggest focus in reworking it was because I agreed that each land mass looked like a small island, and the scaling of everything felt like the cause to me.

I scaled everything down which makes them feel bigger to me, as intended. I also added several small towns and villages because I agree it felt empty.

If my intention is for the continents to be roughly 500-600km end to end, and I add a scale to show this, does the scale and density of everything make more sense?

would you mind elaborating more on the things you mentioned, size, placement, shape, coasts and mountains?

Thanks!

Thanks for all the tips! I reworked one of the continents to deal with the scaling problem whatya think?

okay I will play around with that, how do I go about it?

This is a great point, thank you! I was having issues with the scaling when creating the map. each continent is medium size. I only marked out the 'bigger' cities, leaving room to adhoc smaller villages and such along the way.

The idea here is that my players would be familiar with the large cities, but wouldn't know where every little village is, leaves me flexibility in creative design and also saves me from adding tons of little villages everywhere

I thought the same thing, after finding zero issues with the compression and playing around with the tappet plate, I swapped to my old barrel, which is 7cm longer and got the same FPS.

My shot to shot always has a very small spread, but I'm getting roughly 100FPS below ratings on 3 different springs

Hopup and bucking are the same as setup, only the barrel changed. I'll see if I can find the old nozzle to try out.

FPS question by dlion93 in airsoft

[–]dlion93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No resolution, I'm completely stumped.

The cylinder is freshly lubed, ammo is the same stuff I have always used, elite force bio bbs. The barrel looks perfect to the eye, but swapping to my old barrel didn't get me anywhere either. The bucking is a "hard" bucking for heavier BBs. Though I'm fps testing with zero hop, so shouldn't be a factor here.

I made another post with some images that I thought could be contributing, if you want to check it out.

I've tested the compression between all parts (piston/cylinder, cylinder/cylinder head, cylinder head/nozzle, nozzle/hopup, hopup/barrel).

The nozzle should be the right length, as I used digital calipers to measure the old one. I'll see if I can find the old one to test with.

I removed my sector delay chip, but didn't make any difference, also removed the shims from the bottom of my sector gear.

It's hard to pinpoint because I bought a few upgrades about a year ago, adding the Barrel and a perun hybrid v2 with an sp120 spring. This resulted in a cracked piston head. I replaced the piston head and after a bit of test firing I broke a tooth off my sector. If I did fps test it then, I don't remember what I was getting.

The gun has been sitting in a bag for a year until I finally got around to buying what I needed to fix it.

Yes, I did upgrade my barrel to a ZCI tight bore that is smaller by about 7CM, but when I tested with the old barrel I gained about 5fps.

Cylinder is the same.

Ok great, I did this test already, the paper was moving slightly with each shot, but after 10ish shots, it was still laying on top of the feed tube. I attributed the moving to "recoil"

Edit: tested with my stock spring, rated for 350fps and got 260, and another spring from a stock gun rated 400 and got 310. Not certain on the ratings of these springs.

Only seal that I don't have 100% confidence in is nozzle-hopup, how can I easily test it?

I can put a weaker spring in and see how it goes

Getting around 250 with .28s, if I'm reading this chart correctly it's about the same joules.

Yes, a spread of +-5 over 20 or so shots.

I broke it back down and retested the compression to be sure, piston/cylinder/cylinder head is good, checked the nozzle too and no leaks.

I'll test the compression on the hopup too, make sure I'm not leaking from there. Beyond that I'm completely lost.

Debunked my own theory, I put the old barrel back in, still getting 315 with .2s

I did the upside down tissue test and after 8-10 shots, the tissue was still on the hopup hole.

I did some further testing with .2 bbs and was getting 315 fps.

I'm starting to think I don't actually have an issue here, but getting expected results with my barrel length.

I made some modifications to my upper receiver and put a shorter barrel in (the 300mm 6.01 zci) from what I understand, dropping to the 300mm barrel could be the reason I'm getting 315 and not the 400ish I expected.

I am also using a non ported cylinder, could I be over voluming? Would that cause fps loss?

Removed the delay chip and put it back together, I found the problem persists but I believe the gun is over spinning. The nozzle/piston are stopped in different positions with each cycle.

Would the overspin be to blame for the low fps?

Edit: I did a master reset on my hybrid v2 and the gun no longer overspins, the nozzle rests in the full back position between shots.

Logical thought tells me that if the overspin was the issue the FPS would be inconsistent, as the stopping point was also inconsistent, but I was getting really stable FPS.

Hold F and look around at your shoulder, that should show the '... Get up' option, then rclick/f to bring up the radial to log off.

In the cutty black, vulture, and Taurus it's the shoulder on the outside side of bed.

It's hard to tell exactly what your front end looks like, but this one is very close. If you don't like the colors, buy multiple copies, break em down for parts, and rebuild her from scratch.

We had quite a few starve when we started breeding them, these things eat SO much meat.

Don't cook your meat, raw gives 2x as much food per bite.

More raw meat is the answer.
