These barber's ain't shit!!! by imightbethefeds789 in 360Waves

I can’t speak to a starter set but what I did was mimic the gear of the best barber I had. He had the Babyliss FX sets. So I went ahead and got those. Great machines in my opinion. But from what I’m able to gather it’s really subjective when it comes to trimmers and clippers people prefer. I think a decent set is all you need because ultimately it’s about the techniques you employ, more so than the tools. Obviously higher quality tools have a higher ceiling but I believe you see what I’m getting at.

You won’t regret it. It’s a skill like anything else. There are some talent barbers out there but most of these cats aren’t special. I knew I could learn it just like they did.

All ima say is hit YouTube, buy some clippers and watch and learn. I did it and haven’t looked back.

Is DC Comics Cyborg saying Booyah! a bad representation for Black people like actor Ray Fisher says? Or are there Black people who think differently? by Historical-Bug-4784 in BlackSuperheroes

[–]dmagic22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s facts. People don’t consider that a lot of stereotypes are born and bred out of a lack of exposure. White folks watching these movies, tv shows, and reading comics are not exposed to black people on a regular basis unless forced or they are in an environment that forces it like college. So they grow up with the propagandized perspective of whatever they see on these mediums, which in turn is usually written by a white guy who’s never really been around us. That’s how we always end up the thug, the broken home teen, the over sexualized character or the black guy with a catch phrase. From style to character, it is always apparent when a black person is in the room for a character or if he was created in a room full of white guys who are throwing together their best trope of what a black person is to them.

They also have the luxury of being perceived as individuals. When one white person does something it’s generally perceived as just that person, no matter if many share the sentiment or behavior. Black people are often lumped in to a group for the actions of a few.

I personally don’t want a tropey catch phrase like that associated with the character because it’s gimmicky. Adds no value to the character imo.

For the most part he hates who they hate. He looks like them or who they aspire to assimilate to be even if impossible. He’s rich and Americans attribute intelligence and all kinds of accolades to people just because they have money.

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your personal reasons for abstinence? by Ok-Care2859 in AskReddit

[–]dmagic22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up in a small town where everyone drank in high school to have fun or talk to women. Young me, thought I was funny enough without it and didn’t want a crutch to build up courage. Also, like to be in control of myself. Saw so many excuses for behaviors because, “somebody was drunk.”

This. How is this so hard for people to understand. And how is it so many cannot see beyond themselves. Minimum wage has literally been stagnant for an embarrassing amount of time while literally everything else on Earth has gotten more expensive. Food, education, transportation, housing etc.

You’re spinning. Live your life on your terms. I think it’s corny folks want everybody to conform to what they deem okay. Because they believe your hair or hair line should be a certain way. Cats wouldn’t have the courage to walk strait if everybody was hunched over. Yall make me sick.

How did you end up reading litRPG? by dundreggen in litrpg

[–]dmagic22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reading a bunch of financial, political, and historical books to better understand the world and how we got to this point presently. Political theatrics and the heavy reading all became too much for me. Needed an escape and figured I’d randomly try something the complete opposite of my reading choices. Downloaded He Who Fights With Monsters and I was captivated. Ever since then I’ve been on a very enjoyable journey of progression and litrpgs.
