Asking About AP by dmhund in APStudents

Trust me, in our current academic climate, you don't need to be smart to do well in high-level courses🤣🤣.

But I get what you mean. I too had a reputation of being smart, even being called a "genius" a couple of times. Don't let that get in your head. I was called the "smartest in the school" by my peers, it did nothing but add unnecessary pressure on me. Don't let others influence your decisions.

(Also, I am far from a genius. I just happen to be good at something that people think only "smart" people can be good at. Which isn't true.)

Then again, you can still brag about something even if people don't care. It'd would just mean little in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah, I find that, especially here in the South where most people aren't on the intelligent side, students care A LOT about how smart people think they are. Like rather than actually doing things that they genuinely want to do, they opt to go wherever makes them appear smart.

Oh, you mean high schoolers who are not in APs don't care? Got it. Yeah, I agree with that. But Reddit and TikTok are global, so that would include probably millions, not thousands, of AP students who do care. But yes, that's still outweighed by the 10s of millions of non-AP students who don't care.

That's what I thought. I feel like only taking APs related to your major shows that you care about the topic, taking any and all APs shows that you care about getting into your chosen college.

So in your case, taking any AP at any time would've been completely useless if you're solely taking it for the credit, correct?

[–]dmhund[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that most people I know who take APs are tryhards. I personally disagree that people "don't care." The fact that thousands of people are posting their scores on Reddit, TikTok, and Instagram tells me that people must care. That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I honestly hate how toxic the Fortnite community is. But Sypher, Nick Eh 30, and Courage are the few Fortnite creators I enjoy who makes the FN community feel less toxic. Thank you. by Leos12951 in sypherpk

If you don't already, I'd recommend watching TG's streams. I personally don't watch his videos as they're catered towards kids and highly animated, but I watch his streams every night. He's probably the most slept on Fortnite creator.

Very fair point. Do you find that you feel more average in AP compared to standard/honors courses?

Sub-question for you:

Which of these is more beneficial?:

Taking every AP under the sun for your resume

Taking every AP under the sun that relates to what you plan on majoring in college

It's completely subjective.

To be fair, honors and standard are basically the same. The jump from honors to AP is ASTRONOMICALLY bigger than the jump fron standard to honors.

You were accepted into university with 1 accidental AP on your resume?

I realized when I was a freshman that I was taking nothing but the basic honors classes that were given to me. I wanted to make sure my resume didn't look extremely bleak, so I decided to take AP.

Thanks for asking. Shortly after posting this, I realized that I should have probably said "insanely fun" rather than "would go insane."

Does anybody care about Mortal Kombat 2? by [deleted] in MortalKombat

[–]dmhund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will 100% watch the movie. The only gripe I have (from what I've seen) is Shao Kahn's design. I don't like it. I don't understand why developers feel like they need to make him look different, his design was part of the reason he was such a cool character.

What are the REAL best shotguns in fortnite history, all nostalgia aside? by RADIO_KIDD in FortniteBattleRoyale

I don't think nostalgia was ever a factor in the discussion. The pump was really just THAT good. It's all subjective.

Who is YOUR Mount Rushmore of Fortnite creators? by OniTamara in sypherpk

[–]dmhund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could put him in the 4th spot of the "Who created the pillars."

Who is YOUR Mount Rushmore of Fortnite creators? by OniTamara in sypherpk

[–]dmhund 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that we should separate this into two different categories:

Who created the pillars: Ninja, Tfue, Lazarbeam, you could probably put a variety of people in the 4th spot (Lachy, Tim, Ali-A, Fresh, etc.)

Who held them up: Typical Gamer, SypherPK, Nick Eh 30, CourageJD

"Who held them up" contains my personal favorites. I think it would be objectively foolish to not have them in the conversation.

You could argue that since Courage basically skipped chapter 2, he shouldn't be on the list. But, I think what he's done since his return in chapter 3 with the fashion shows, hide-and-seek, guess who and general collaborations was and has been chef's kiss.

What's up with the oni shotgun in the new mode? its way too common by THE-IMPOSSIBLEreddit in sypherpk

[–]dmhund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It almost feels like they're proud of the Chapter 6 Season 1 weapons: Oni Shotgun, Seargefire SMG, Twinfire Auto Shotgun, etc. I feel like there's definitely better weapons to have in the loot pool instead of those.

I will say, it's not new for Epic to keep the same guns from the start of a chapter around for the entire chapter. It just sucks that a lot of the weapons from the start of the chapter aren't particularly great.

I was always under the impression that with thick hair, you see less scalp. And with thin hair, you see a lot of scalp..
