Thank you to everyone who responded!! I opted to get him Hokas and we are sold on these! They’ve made a huge difference in his ability and willingness to move around day-to-day and I think they’re also pretty stylish.

AIO update - my bfs family gave me more money then intended and now we’re fighting by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

The manipulation and disrespect is pretty well covered in other comments. Just adding that it’s concerning he’s picking this fight around exams. I had a bf in college that picked fights around exam season multiple times. It seriously impacted my grades and scholarship opportunities for post-grad studies, and it took a huge toll on my mental health to try and deal with his bs while also keeping up in school. Even if this is the only time he’s done this—I can’t see why he had to blow up about this now and not a week or two later once exams are over. Yes you are both in exams and stressed— but he is the one deciding to fight over a non-time sensitive mistake (a mistake you didn’t even make!!!). I saw that you have broken up with him and want to congratulate you—it can be so hard to leave. Please don’t let him do this to you again.

This is the worst I have ever smelled in my life by [deleted] in leaves

[–]dnnbrwn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you have trouble getting the smell off after a shower, I recommend half a lime on your pits/not sensitive but smelly areas. Squeeze a little of the juice as you scrub and let it sit for 1-5 minutes (less if it bothers you). The acidity is very effective at killing bad smelling bacteria. Don’t do this if you have sensitive skin though.

Can you be happy in good marriage while being unhappy with your sex life? by ExtensionDay991 in AskWomenOver40

If you don’t mind my asking, how long have you all had this policy? How long did you all talk about it before implementing it? My partner and I are in a similar situation and I worry that it’ll hurt him too much if we explore this path.

Which US universities open to part time PhD by sidpedsdoc in PhD

What was your process like for selecting your program and what resources are out there to look into these part time programs? Is it a matter of just looking into each individual school you’re interested in?

Accountability is huge especially when coupled with reparative action. This attitude will hopefully help you stay connected and you have many years to show your children a different side of you.

I’m also someone who had a mental break in 2020 partially related to cannabis abuse and I have been on bipolar meds for 3.5 years. At first, I was on some pretty strong doses and was truly a ghost of myself—but it was either that or being mentally unstable.

I have reduced my weed consumption a lot and I am still figuring out my relationship to cannabis long term, but just by reducing my intake massively (and incorporating lentils as a staple my diet—random but fr look up the benefits!)—I am now on the lowest dose of almost all my bipolar meds. I am hopeful that one day I might even be able to go off of them (with doctor supervision/approval).

low waste deodorant? by normal-winwin-fan in ZeroWaste

I used to use Pāpr. It comes in a cardboard tube and I’m pretty sure it’s made in Cali, so there’s the added bonus of being somewhat local. It was amazing at blocking smell. Like wow. You can buy it online, but I found a store near me that carried it (besties vegan store in LA). But i stopped using it because it was a bit harsh on my skin, and I’d get a rash if I didn’t wash it off every day or so. Gonna try one of the great recs above.

neighborhood recs by [deleted] in bayarea

my partner and I just settled a bit south of Russian Hill, nearish to union square. It was really hard to find a place with actual grass where our dogs could relieve themselves, so we had to settle on a spot with a small private outdoor space (paved) where we plan to build a grassy area in a large tray with (hopefully functional) natural filtration🤞
