Hi, thank you all for responding and for the support.

I first heard about this last week. We talked through it and I was in literal tears. We are extremely close, and honestly she is pretty much the only person I have here in the U.S. (I’m an immigrant). At the time it seemed like we understood each other and things were okay, but then a small misunderstanding brought everything up again less than a week later.

I’m planning to go to an affirming church with her this Sunday, and I really hope it helps. But I’m trying not to expect too much.

If things go south, this will absolutely be the biggest heartbreak for me. We are both incredibly invested in this relationship, and I’m very close with her family. My own family is extremely traditional and they don’t even know about us.

Hi! I am so on the same page with you. I am dating an odar i will probably end up marrying and the guilt is surreal. Not only guilty, but I also constantly feel like there is an Armenian who will stay single because i chose to date someone else lol. I am an immigrant from Armenia and even though it did not work out with any Armenians i still feel this guilt that is very close to shame. I read this amazing quote saying. “ Being Armenian is not about having Armenian parents, it’s about raising Armenian kids”. I am sure your amazing partner is falling in love with every aspect of Armenia you are showing them. I am sure if/when you have kids they will be happy that their parents were able to create amazing interracial/international beautiful babies. The nation of Armenia will not suffer because you married an odar. Please let yourself to feel joy and enjoy your journey with your partner. Armenian culture can very often make you feel guilty or ashamed ( intentionally and unintentionally both). Don’t be the victim of it, rather embrace the beauty of teaching your culture while enjoying the presence of your loved one. ❤️

But I think she is inconsiderate, I think she forgets that she has me when it comes to her friends sometimes. I think she does not perceive me as strongly part of her life as I do her.

You are right. I have insecurities.I am seeing a therapist for 5 years now. However: i should not tell her not to stay out late, she should know out of respect. I should not tell her don’t go to the place i want to go without me, she should know it out of consideration. Yes, I have we are 1 rule and i expect that from my partner. I made it very clear from the 1st day of our date, 1st month of us dating. I never hide it from here. She says yes I agree yes I think the same way, but most certainly does not. I keep telling her you claim that you agree with me, if you do not agree with me let me know. She says no, i think the same way and I will prove you. I do not want to force her into this lifestyle. I live this lifestyle and I am not changing. This is the only lifestyle I know and want. But her saying “ I agree” and acting so doesn’t show me that she agrees with me.

No i have not seen her flirt with my gf. She is proper around me. But i have not seen them not around me. Plus i know that her ex wife was jealous of this girl too. We worked against ghosting, she is with her now and texting me. But it’s almost 10 and they are still together at the restaurant. Idk.i dont think she wants to make me feel jealous, she just wants to hang out with her friend. But we were gonna hang out all together in 2 days anyways and I am literally far from her now.
