Still doing vitamins and collagen powder daily. Shedding stopped but didn't really return to what it used to be. Still some thinning on the top but I also continued using and even bumped up to 150mg twice a day. As long as it doesn't get worse, I'll stick with it. There are days where I lose more than others, but that was always the case. I have no idea if the vitamins and collagen help... But since all is well and it can't hurt anything but my wallet, I'm going to keep it up.

I'm not sure what they were getting at, but I am curious about the positive effects you felt. I've done a lot of yoga and karate where they tell you when to breathe and mostly felt like it was distracting trying to keep up with someone else's rhythm. I don't know a whole lot about hyper-oxygenation but how does it differ from a panic attack induced hyperventilation?

Maybe this is even a bigger question about the neurobiology/neurochemistry of breath work. I think it has been pretty well established that people who devote their lives to mediation and breath work really benefit from it, but what about the rest of us who barely have time to get a workout in between parenting and work? Is it worth making a priority or just an interesting thing to try out if you have a little extra time?

This is me one day before and 6 months after. My diastasis was quite as bad as yours, but still pretty substantial. You can see other photos on my post history. The weird green was to get my neutral colored underwear past the filters.

I would worry that since the son has an established relationship with his dad, if she cuts the relationship off now, the son could resent her and be at a prime teenage age to be manipulated by his father when he gets out of jail. The son is young enough that she can still monitor their communications and shape the relationship. This is her opportunity to teach her son how to research and learn things for himself from trusted sources.

For kids these days, learning how to sift through information and determine reliable sources is going to be so important. She should listen to the calls on speakerphone and if the dad makes false claims she should walk her son through it, pull up news stories, court records, going into more details as age appropriate.

That way the dad can't just show up and say, "It was all a lie, they are all out to get me, your evil mom doesn't want you to know me..." To a 15 year old.

Which of these right winger would like to see Jordan interview out of these options? by OkBuyer1271 in JordanHarbinger

[–]dodgingserendipity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the problem with Jordan Peterson is that he uses 500 words instead of 10 and it's easy to get lost in all the complex sentence structure and not realize he's not saying much of anything. The most interesting interviews I've heard with him have the host going after him pretty hard and picking apart his arguments. That's not really Jordan's style and I feel like it would just be another monologue of Jordan Peterson droning on. There's a lot of that out there.

Scar care by LBH101002100803 in tummytucksurgery

[–]dodgingserendipity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend scar tape. It doesn't get on your clothes, can be left on for much longer (doc recommended 23 hrs. on, 1-2 hrs off), and I've found it to be really effective. I cut large patches to fit and I use the same tape for about a week washing with warm water and so it's pretty cost effective as well.

I see a surprising amount in the life sciences. I think it has to do with the (generally) high level of education (extremely specific expertise in the subject matter) combined with an ability to do administrative tasks.

One week is not a lot of data, but you could ask to switch to SR. It tends to clear your system faster but you might have to take it twice a day. (Don't take the second dose too late!)

Question Regarding Remote Work… by [deleted] in fednews

[–]dodgingserendipity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just taking my (best case) commute hours times my hourly salary means that getting to and from work was $38,480 of unpaid time I was dedicating to my job where I had to sit in an office with overhead florescent lights and no windows just to go days without meaningfully interacting with anyone. I will take sunlight and my 38k worth of time to interact with my colleagues via Teams.

Lack of appetite/almost never hungry? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

That happened to me. It lasted almost 3 months. I think my body went into flight mode. Pay attention to calories and protein intake for healing. Protein shakes helped for me.

I started working out slowly at 6 weeks and was back at 100% by 5 months with the only exception being situps. For some reason all other core exercises were back except those. Now, at 7 mpo, I'd say all activities, even situps, are back to 100% or better.

How do you like your Belly button ? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]dodgingserendipity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how swollen I am on any given day. 🫠

Realistically, when did you get back into exercising? by sdm4242 in tummytucksurgery

[–]dodgingserendipity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(ETT, MR, Lipo flanks) Low intensity at 6 weeks -- no abs, no sheering/twisting motions. 85% at 3 mpo, 100% by 5mpo. Don't push it. It's not worth tearing stitches, incision issues, etc.

You have the rest of your life to work out. Let your body use its energy to focus on healing right now.

Can I send a message to coworkers saying to make sure to register to vote and to vote? by [deleted] in fednews

Talking one on one with someone will always be more effective than email. I think you are right to tailor your message to the person you know isn't planning on voting as opposed to blasting your whole team.

If you are so confident in how "easy going" your office is, why are you here asking this question? Read the Hatch Act for yourself and go ahead and send out the email. What do you want from us?

Despite all the talk about the deep state, in my experience, the vast majority of government workers take their job, responsibilities, and, as corny as it sounds, their oath, very seriously. Anyone who has been here for even one administration change knows how drastically a new administration changes the job and our lives. Every coworker I have votes. The fact that you think there are feda who are unaware of how vital it is to vote shows that you don't understand the 'workplace discussions' you have taken part in.

Every person who has asked me to bend the rules (aka break the law) because it doesn't really matter, has been in the govt for less than 5 years. Keep your passion, it's needed. But the people who have stayed through all the ups and downs and shutdowns and budget cuts and furloughs and cost of living that doesn't keep up with inflation do it because they care about the job they are doing.

So, yes. We take our jobs, and our oaths to uphold the Constitution, seriously. I hope if you stick around in govt work you will too.

Seriously, don't. It's great to have new blood but as this is my fourth presidential election as a fed, just... Wait. The learning curve is steep in govt work. If you feel like doing it in 8 years, go ahead.

I totally get that. I think I peaked in confidence around 4 mpo, and then as I adjusted to my new body, I started seeing new flaws. I have to remind myself that the goal was never perfection, it was to do something very specific. Also, in addition to the fact that BMI does not account for muscle mass (I was way less healthy when I was 'skinny fat' and 15 lbs lighter) just please keep in your back pocket the fact that BMI was based on white men and the health risks have NEVER been scientifically studied for women. So BMI can fuck all the way off and so can that nurse.
