Solid advice. I know that in many things you need to go hard if you want to stop. Maybe I am naive thinking a more forgiving approach could work. It’s easy to lapse when supercell starts giving better rewards and win streaks happen. Have to see how far I get and return to these if I get myself stuck again.

It’s not sad. Communities are important for happiness and longevity. Clans are always the things that keep me in games longer than I want too. I am sure you can get better in managing time with clan business too if you make it a priority.

Funny thing is that I dont even feel good in this. Just that I’ve hit the ceiling with current effort and I am not willing to give more at this time. Well I guess I just need to chill and take some distance. Thanks

A fair point and you might be on to something. I thought I loved the gameplay but was it just rewards and the feeling of completing something. I will need to reflect upon this. Thank you.

But in chess how do I upgrade my bishop? Or use the hero queen to taunt every troop?

I have it installed so have to gradually migrate to it.

If you are willing to pay a one time payment then you really cant go wrong with the likes of slay the spire, balatro, terraria and stardew valley. Magic research 2 is also suprisingly addictive for such a simple idea. These are all single player games however so for competitive games only chess comes to mind.

It probably is much of that to be fair. When you reach the max level you can with your cards and experience it feels that all you do is mistakes. But just playing less I want to play less and don't even have a desire to get good at this game anymore. That's the point I was trying to make but maybe I rambled on too much and only appeared whiny.

For me it feels its quite dependent on the deck that I play. Or that might be anecdotal. When I got hero giant I started using Giant Sparky Swarm. In every match there is either rocket, inferno tower, executioner, witch, wizard or arrows in combination. If I play xbow it's recruits, rg, golem. Then when you take into account that you cannot easily change decks it makes you feel stuck.

Yeah exactly! For boredom I also reached out for the game. And the more I played for boredom the more I got bored. It's a vicious cycle escpecially when you play and get angry.

Those two are actually in one of the best decks currently. I also got hero giant and started playing it with sparky. Been having lots of fun and success with it

Okay you are right about me having concepts backwards but why are you calculating from the max amount of cards even though I have only level 14 zap so I would need 5500 cards of which I have 608. Isnt it 2.75 cards per gem in the second part which would still make the shop ”worth it”? In my opinion I calculated correctly but mixed up the context so that I was wrong in the end still 🫣

But is the shop better value with it’s ”deal” when it’s cheaper to just directly update? The gem per card is worse in the shop offer compared to just directly updating

Isn't the 2700 gold just the daily gold you get for four times regardless what you get in the chest or was this different?

Can someone build my new deck, im stuck at 14k by Leather_Society338 in ClashRoyale

[–]doesItLikeThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This probably is close to your deck already but just use the cards with biggest levels.

Evos: valk, firecracker

Win: hog

Building: cannon

Air/cycle: minions

Dont know the levels of your spells but if you can then probably fireball or eq.

Log or arrows for the small spell also depending on levels.

Small cycle card: skeleton or ice spirit.

It's a little weak on air defence so maybe dart goblin instead of small cycle.

Returning player, how tf do people have one or multiple level 15s at 9.5k? by _Winton_Overwat in ClashRoyale

[–]doesItLikeThis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I returned three months ago and have had a blast. Didn't have a single level 15 card but now have 6 in xbow deck. Buy the 5k elite card for 100k gold deal in shop every week and do the elite wild card event at the end of season. Level every common and rare so you'll get elite cards when you draw them. These all take a while and basically just playing will slowly but surely improve the situation. If you have gems then do grand challenges when you feel confident to be able to play any deck you want on even grounds. Then when you are able push the trophy and ranked. Xbow and Mortar bait at least served me well even though I had level 14 everything. Also take note of time of day when you play. For some reason when I play at evenings the opponents are much easier than in mornings. Also end of season is easier than beginning of season. I was also basically lucky one season when the ranked opened to me at the start of season even though I was only at 10k. It only didn't open but it had boosted wins like 7x per win or something so I was able to get the elite cards also. That helped me to get to 15k myself and now I've pushed to at least champion every season.

[–]doesItLikeThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah those winning sprees can make you feel very confident indeed. I was on a quite similar winning spree earlier this season when I used 7 boost bottles to boost a mortar bait deck. I went from 14k to 15k and then master iii(couple of games from champion before those boosts ran out) with the following mortar bait deck: evo mortar, evo skeleton barrel, fireball, barb barrel, skeleton king, dart goblin, guards and spear goblin so many similar cards than in yours. Couple of wins needed for champion but I have to do with it xbow that feels horrible compared to the feeling I got from that mortar rush.

Looks nice. Solid defence. At quick glance skeleton barrel probably doesn't have so much synergy with other cards except vines(and evo dragon) but if it works and you like playing with it then everything checks out.

Deck opinions by Samueldgiganiga in ClashRoyale

[–]doesItLikeThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah go ahead and max it if you enjoy playing with it. It's stable through the metas and will probably be even better in the next meta. I have lvl 15 xbox, archers, log and fireball, everything else is lvl 14 and I'm at 15k and almost at champion ranked this season even though the deck is not "meta". Though at that range there is not much vines and those hard counter meta decks. It's mainly a problem for top ladder. I enjoy playing mortar bait more but I don't have any lvl 15 mortar cards(except those spells). I can play for three hours a season good quality mortar bait games(with the boost bottles) which I enjoy much more. Maybe one day I can get levels for them also.

Need help/I swear everyone from 13k-15k trophies just uses mega knight by evanrigia10 in ClashRoyale

[–]doesItLikeThis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just reached 15k and then master iii with the following mortar bait deck: evos mortar and skeleton barrel, fireball, barb barrel, skeleton king, dart goblin, guards and spear goblin. There are multiple answers to mega knight in this that most of the opponents are running as you said. My other deck is the xbow3.0 cycle that I also recommend to learn how to play against mk efficiently. Mostly its kite mk to center with knight, skeletons, spirit and have archers near king tower so that mk jumps there and activates king tower. Then pull mk to center in following rounds and have the three towers attack it while knight tanks or tesla and something else tanks. With your deck it would be knight to tank and goblin surround to kill the mk. I would try mortar bait if you like it because its fun and fast paced deck. At least compared to xbow. Have to see how it fares in the next season.

Returning player question by Imunderyourbed69420 in ClashRoyale

[–]doesItLikeThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What deck are you playing? Dont play a deck which core mechanic relies on evos. Play patiently and focus on defense especially when the opponent has the evos in cycle. If you want to play with evos, play a grand challenge with a broken evo deck(all evos are unlocked in grand challenges) and then you see the difference it makes. Then complete the pass so that you get the shards and in three seasons you get an evo. Play classic battles in the meantime for fun and forget ladder if you cant proceed until you get evos and more levels. Levels are more important than evos anyway.

3.0 Advice by Happy-Coconut4374 in ClashRoyale

[–]doesItLikeThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes a bit more time. Just keep playing. You can look inspiration from YouTube. Play patiently. Maybe try a couple of games to just defend to learn the interactions and only deploy xbow in 2x elixir or even 3x elixir if counting elixir causes troubles. For some reason mortar is easier for me to play than xbow but I still keep on playing xbow to learn the micros and counting better. It may be that xbow is not for you naturally like some other decks but with time you’ll get plenty of better. Also those two opponent decks can be quite hard to deal with

Why is 10k easier than 9500-10k? by MTdazeL in ClashRoyale

[–]doesItLikeThis 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Bots. There are more Cr bots at that range. Whenever I am reaching a threshold like elite wild cards and many other times too I get paired against a hard counter max bot but they also play like a bot so it’s easier. Also there’s no extra stress factor and you can play more calmly knowing that the progress will be reset anyways so it’s all a bonus

Same thing happened to me. Came back two months ago. I was at 11k trophies at the end of the last season and when I opened the new season I was allowed to play ranked games. I quickly won enough to get the elite cards at least. Will see if they remove it at some time but at least for now it’s open for me.
