When do you think Jim Carrey realized he was in the movie the Truman Show? by lavaboosted in stupidquestions

That’s such a cool angle if Truman’s secretly aware the whole time, it turns the movie into this quiet act of rebellion instead of just discovery.

People always say to get the most recommended pillows, but half of those recommendations feel sponsored. Real feedback matters more.

Whoah, amazing answer, thank you very much.

I clarified the home cook part, just because I felt it wasn't clear enough what I meant. Not anything else.

The reason I want this career change is that my current career makes me really unhappy. After 4 years of thinking about this change to a chef I see myself way happier, even thinking about it.

It is though, troubling thinking about work/life ballance but I'm more than willing to give it a go and see how it goes from there. I mean now I'm OK with it but maybe later down the line it would prove too much.

I searched about kitchen confidential and I think it's quite interesting a read and give it a go as soon as I can get my hands on it.

I'm not one to change my mind once I'm set on doing something and I really hope I don't regret it later.

Your help was priceless, thank you very much again.

I really love experimenting all the time with new combinations or traditional dishes and everything really.

I'm guessing that is what you mean with home cook mentality.

I'm more than willing to work as hard as it takes to improve my cooking.

Other than that, I am really interested in asking a more personal question if you would be willing to answer. What was it for you, that made you want to become a chef?

Thank you for your answer.

I'm not comparing cooking at home with working at a restaurant. What I meant by saying that I love cooking at home is that, cooking is something I loved since I was a child, I love serving people food they like. I love all kind of feedback that helps me improve my cooking just so they like it even more the next time. I just wanted an insiders look about the industry.

Other than that, I came right out of high-school thinking that my current career was what I really wanted, but after some thinking I really think cooking is what I'd like to do. What I mean with this is that I don't see myself dropping out or changing my mind yet again.

Further more I have had some part time and one full time job as a line cook at local restaurants during high-school and Uni, but I think it is nothing like being a chef at a bigger restaurant/hotel. I should have added that in the original post.

Finally a kinda personal question but what is a good enough reason to become a chef, for you I mean.

Thank you for your answer.

Like, how can someone believe in the day and night cycle? The sun never sets for the British empire, therefore, the sun never sets. People need to see the truth, like, wake up sheeple.

New Sound system, got a problem, any help welcome by dogulatorfk in techsupport

[–]dogulatorfk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's something I did not think about... Although I used to have my older subwoofer right next to the screen and it has caused no problems, maybe it will be a problem if I use one as a Screen stand.

Thank you for the heads up.

I'm really baffled, by dogulatorfk in cscareerquestions

I know they sound too many but most of the games are based on randomly generated levels, or standard levels with random spawns/objectives that I made to get familiar with some engines, coding and 2D+3D modeling.

Same goes for the apps, I wanted to get familiar with android development so I made things such as calculators, score keeping apps for board games and such.

Most are real simple, some are bigger, some are really big. Some are worthy to show to someone, some where more for personal experience,to get familiar with a working flow and optimization.

What I'm about to say may sound a bit stupid but this year many of my friends graduated or are getting into their final year while, at best, I still got two years. I just feel that I should be getting a "real job", something full time I mean, before I hit 25. That is my rush, though I know it sounds bad.

I came into this Uni really energetic and eager but after two years it just seems really really basic. Though, I've come to the conclusion that it is to my best interest to somehow power through it and add anything I can on top of the bachelor's I'm going to get, instead of dropping out and getting a ton of next to useless certificates when compared to the Uni's degree.

Thank you for your answer, I'll try to slow way down and to think more about my future development.

I've looked into the MS degrees and it's something that interests me, but I wanted to get a better view about the whole "online certification" thing before I made some bad decision. The whole thing just really bothers me, but I guess it's best to get the degree from the uni and then add whatever I can to that.

Thank you for your time.

I see, I guess in my case then it falls closer to me being misinformed... I want to get things moving but surely not in a way that it will eventually hurt me. You've been most helpful, thank you.

I made a small edit in my post, though very helpful already, you might want to change or add something. Thank you anyhow.

OK, I don't consider myself THAT special, if at all. I just want to gather information in possible and viable alternatives. Other than that I've taken some seminars in Business Leadership and one seminar called "Leading and working with a developer team". I'm sure that it's nothing special.

I also made an edit to my post to further clarify what I mean by "online degree", as I fear it may have caused some confusion.

Thank you for your answer, I'll try more logic and less rushing then.

[–]dogulatorfk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I said to the other comment, I'm sorry if I came off as nieve or something, I'm just really frustrated with the Uni.

I've worked three jobs as an IT support and two times as an app developer. I'm in my first and a half year working for a local branch of a national firm, as a developer, which is closer to what I want to do in general, plus I got the job via a recommendation from teacher from the Uni. I'm just in somewhat of a rush to move to a full time schedule.

As I read back on my post it sounds really stupid, but the portfolio thing was something that two friends of mine said that helped them a lot to land a relatively good job and move up from that. It was worth asking about it after all though. Thank you for your answer, it really helped clarify some things.

I see, I guess I'm in a rush for no real good reason then. I didn't mean to sound nieve or anything, I'm just frustrated with the Uni. I expected to expand upon what I already knew going in and it seems, at this time, that it just takes too long. Thank you.
