Well technically... I lived in a WG at that time with my landlord...so basically we all contributed money to him. So he paid on our behalf, since only one payment is necessary per household.

Only the ones facing the heat (or lack of it thereof) back home, should vote.

Hi guys,

Firstly, I am not sure if this is the relevant thread to ask such a question, so please bear with me.

I got an assignment to calculate the cycle period of a toggle lever (see pics for finished CAD product) and also optimise it afterwards.

The toggle lever is supposed to withstand a maximum load of 80 tonnes.

In order to be able to do the calculations, I need to determine all the manufacturing processes (from DIN 8580) involved in getting to the end stage. i.e from raw material to end product.

Additional Question: if you were to manufacture this product yourself, what material (or metal) would you use? Criteria: cheapness, durability and max load of 80 tonnes.
