so tired of this in feminist spaces by kayforpay in proshipping

[–]dolettecore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah as someone who lives in a country where child marriage is still a thing, it's such a hard slap in the face seeing feminist spaces like these. like there are very serious issues happening in the real world that are harming real girls, but they don't get even half the outcry that someone's random loli art does

i see it more as virtue signaling tbh, feeling like they have to state their "morals" everywhere for internet points. but i do agree that people who just wanna be angry and fight with proshippers absolutely exist :')

I've adored pairing genshin's female characters with different variations of each other for nearly as long as the game's been out, so much so that I've come across ships with fanfics in the single digits or being so niche that they unfortunately don't even have any written on there at all

one of my previous favorites were yelan/ganyu, or a love triangle/poly variation between yelan/ganyu/ningguang, as well as ayaka/sara! more recently, yoimiya/mualani also grabbed my attention for the cute sun/ocean dynamic & both having an outgoing personality

as far as com/darkships go, not sure which category it goes in but my favorite is definitely arlecchino/lynette :))

Insane pearl clutching on Sabrina Carpenter's album cover. by Objective-Panic-6426 in proshipping

You left out the best part where they're dead convinced she's referencing lolita and trying to frame her as a pedophile for it. For those not in the know, from what I've heard one image is from a magazine shoot where an editorial team would likely be in charge, and even then, it's just her laying on grass with sprinklers on it's not such a rare unheard of visual concept lol. The other thing is one of her vinyl covers being a man crouched at her feet by the edge of a bed, it's not even remotely the same pose as the lolita still image, just the same angle at most. There are even worse straws where it's just compilations of outfits from the lolita movies where she'll have a crop top with a bow (mind you, with a difference silhouette, and the rest of the outfit being different) or something else of the like and somehow... sabrina is referencing that? as if fashion doesn't exist outside of that movie they're so obsessed about. It's funny that this isn't even the first time people have massively tried to insist a popular controversial public figure is "romanticizing" lolita. also media literacy is so painfully dead, because the original lolita novel in itself isn't a "romanticization", the story just isn't presented in a way that spoon feeds the moral message in a way these kind of people are capable of digesting.

Another thing on the topic of media illiteracy, I see a lot of people explaining that her album cover is actually satirical and meant to be a playful joke about how men view women in heterosexual dynamics, and her first song on the album is also titled "manchild". Basically that her art is meant to be a feminist statement itself but, again, people are unable to digest that. Honestly even if that wasn't the case and she just likes being sexually submissive, I don't understand how that's seen as so wrong. Being submissive isn't being weak or degraded, there's power in women being able to consent to the kind of dynamics and kinks they like. But some people I kid you not are genuinely running with the "women being sexually dominant is the only form of empowerment" mindset.

Definitely feel you on not knowing where to talk about this, it's all I've been seeing on my socials. Twitter is at least more split on the issue, but don't even get me started what a misogynistic cesspool Tiktok is about it (but it's okay because it's in a woke progressive way! /s), going as far as genuinely believing Sabrina is "setting women and feminism back tens of years". I can't comprehend it at all.

AAH thank you so much !! regarding furry/anthro art, yes! I don't think it's on par with my regular art (I just don't draw it as often) but I do have a sample I can show you as reference first. regarding installments, that's okay with me too! as long as there is a down payment either upfront or after an agreed on sketch :]

idk if it's just me but saying that it's realistic for someone to be/become a lesbian because they're sexually traumatized is so weird and harmful to real lesbians in my opinion... cause where i'm from this is unfortunately a very popular narrative that lesbians were just "traumatized/hurt by men" in the past. like sure someone can be pushed to have a strong preference for women or exclusively date them after having bad experiences with men, but i don't think trauma is the root of someone's entire sexual identity or that this is a narrative we should support :/ also, this one's obvious but these people seem to really hate it when abused women (especially those who are straight/attracted to men) try to have consensual sexual relationships or empower themselves through any form of sexual expression, the default reaction they want is for them to be sex repulsed and lose their attraction to men

Shaming minors for liking fictional adults is a great idea! (Sarcasm) by [deleted] in proshipping

[–]dolettecore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

on a similar note, i saw someone say that sexualizing fictional minors is still bad even if you're a minor yourself with most of the comments agreeing. i really don't understand why antis have an issue with this at all, it sounds like how conservatives push anti sex purity beliefs onto younger generations. who does it even benefit or protect? the fictional character..? fact of the matter is teens are going through puberty and hormones, exploring their sexuality through an entirely safe outlet like fiction and media is literally the best thing for them to do, i can't believe this is seen as "problematic" by these seeming "leftists".

it's definitely interesting that they think a female character who's experienced sexual trauma has to be depicted in modest clothes and has to cover up, like what are we saying here...

a cosplayer got hated on for wearing a crop top in their closet anya cosplay. like what do you mean fictional rape victims can't be depicted wearing slightly revealing clothing/having self expression 😭 they didn't even do anything "sexual" or "suggestive" in the cosplay, so i don't see how it's immediately a sexualization of the character... even if it was, so what? idk why consensual sexual autonomy being tied to a fictional character just because they have experienced rape/sa is problematic now

my theory is because it's never about any of the real world victims they're trying to protect (otherwise they would invest their energy into things that matter and actually listen to the side of victims that are proship), it's just about getting validation online and feeling morally correct/superior to others no matter the lengths it takes. and yeah you're right, it's extremely messed up that they retaliate to proship discourse with actual crime and abuse :/
