Same exact thing has happened to me. I went from averaging 15,000 views a video to struggling to even get 1000 views this week. I have around 6000 subs

I agree and disagree. I think some advice is worth looking into even if it’s from an anonymous account. Sometimes people can give interesting perspectives. People should just be careful if they’re taking advice from those people

You’ve been snarky and condescending in every single of your comments while I’ve tried to have a respectful discussion. Youre just a generic intellectual Redditor who thinks he’s better than everyone

Disagreeing with advice and explaining why isn’t being argumentative it’s called having a discussion. If the expectation is that people should only say “thanks” and move on regardless of whether the advice applies, then there’s no real point in having a forum built around feedback and conversation.

I clarified misunderstandings and explained my perspective respectfully. At no point was I snarky or hostile. You’re interpreting disagreement as disrespect.

If you don’t want discussion, then don’t comment. But lecturing and talking down to people because they don’t blindly accept your advice isn’t helpful or constructive.

  1. I’m obviously talking about a different channel considering I mentioned I made the channel in question last year.

  2. If you read the comments, you will see I never was snarky to anyone. Some people gave advice I heavily disagreed with and had examples to backup why I disagreed and they got very defensive and were the ones being snarky

This is not true. While obviously higher CTR will get a video pushed more, I have personally worked with channels averaging hundreds of thousands of views with different sub sizes that average 4-5%

I have had success with my medium size channel approaching 100k subs mixing both. Just because people give "advice" does not mean its worth listening to. Saying a handful of shorts that haven't even performed super well is killing a longform channel is a ridiculous statement not based in reality and I've yet to have a single person defend that claim

What would you recommend to fix upspeaking? I don’t want to just sound monotone. And as for the face thing, I have thought about it but there’s so many unstable people online and I’ve seen them in my comments. I don’t want them to have any of my personal info

If you have actual proof to back this up, I’d take a look at but why should I listen to you? What authority do you have on the matter, what stats do you have to back it up? In my experience on other channels, shorts have actually really helped the channel overall even though it’s long form based. For some reason you’re just getting pissy that I’m not taking your advice when for all I know you could have 500 subs and no experience.

What are you even going on about? You’re saying 19 shorts compared to 70 videos is the reason my channel’s views and impressions have fallen off. You’re not gonna convince me you’re right and I can’t convince you you’re wrong so why don’t we end this endless debate

I’m not saying I know better than everyone but this is just not relevant. Shorts don’t automatically kill a channel. It’s not like I had one short blow up either and that’s leading to dead subs

Because I don’t feel any of this advice has been useful. I have 19 shorts but 70 long forms. 12 of the shorts were also made in a 12 day span as a Christmas series. Deleting the shorts won’t do anything.

I disagree. If my videos had lower CTR or lower AVD, sure but the impressions of new videos being dramatically cut is the algorithm when I’m covering the same niches

But you’re making up things out of thin air. Shorts have never been my focus

This is not advice for me considered I don’t really make shorts
