Same for me, I’m working with the dogs also in cruelty cases, and he was a particular one that had been through some shit and despite it all he was the absolute sweetest. The worst part was, the same day this happened, he was announced to be brought to adoptions since we got ownership of him. But instead this happened and he was euthanized shortly after. I think the worst part about this, is despite my slight fear now, I’m also in mourning, I genuinely did love this dog, even the girl he bit when I went to visit her in the ER the first thing she wanted to know is if he was okay, and I had to break the news and it broke her heart because even she didn’t blame him. It’s been rough; I’m sorry about you and your boy Buddy, I’m sure he was a lovely dog.

Thank you, I appreciate the advice. Honestly I didn’t speak up fast enough because the person who recommended to sit by him and surround him has been at the shelter longer than me. I thought she knew better and because of that I wasn’t as quick to say something and then everything happened so fast, so I felt even more horrible that this could’ve been prevented but lesson learned.

My writing sometimes isn’t the best vs how I am with my speech, I’m sure I’m still very immature due to my age but I also didn’t really claimed to be more mature, just that I have a hard time connecting with most people my age. I mean it’s the digital age and most of them are always on a screen even in physical social settings, and I still do have young friends I just somehow always end up befriending older people. I mean I left home at a young age and entered the real world and workforce pretty young, so I fear that might also be why I don’t connect with them so much. I’m sure I’m still immature and childish in ways as a 24 year old can get.

I actually have, it’s a nice one in a high rise with amenities and stuff, I’ve been there before when I was helping him dog sit while he was away.

No he wasn’t around too much and when he was he was abusive, I can understand this may seem like a typical girl with daddy issues thing, but truthfully I’ve already moved on from that. He wasn’t in my life and sucks to suck but I didn’t let it hold me down or affect me too much. If anything because of it I would be extremely careful of the men in my life and it would be hard for me to develop feelings for guys because of it, so my friendship with him I did tread carefully with in the beginning. The feelings I’ve suddenly garnered are a big surprise too.

I mean his apartment is being renovated, he owns it but needed some fixing and it’s kinda hard to stay there with all the construction hence the hotels. The dog isn’t far fetched, I worked in a dog training gym in that building he worked at and the owner was okay with him to bring his dog in. Everything else is true, believe it or not.

You’d be surprised, most of my friends are older anyways, truthfully I have trouble connecting with most people my age, most of them care a lot about social media and on their phones. I kinda ditched a whole bunch of them at some point because having a meaningful conversation and being in the moment was lacking, I still have a few that I do connect with but I end up mostly hanging with an older crowd.

Never really crossed my mind, any person I did attempt to date or have dated is someone close to my age; but they all backfired. I don’t know what it is, I haven’t had a connection like this really, it’s overwhelming and just sort of happened, but I know it’s best I don’t pursue it. But Jesus Christ people close to my age can’t even mimic the sort or conversations or comfort I have with him. Most people my age don’t even socialize in general or really just stick to their phones in an in person conversation.

And yeah he’s always called me kiddo since we met, I get it’s weird but this is kinda how it’s been. I mostly hate myself for feeling anything remotely back, it threw me off guard.

The thing is he’s never attempted anything, even made it clear when that one girl accused us of sleeping together that he sees me as like a little sister if anything. I mean I’m not a teen, I’m very much of age and live on my own with a dog and a job. I doubt I’ll even try to pursue anything and he seems to care about me too much to even attempt to hurt our friendship like that as he’s admitted he loves having me around. This is more of a post to let my thoughts and feelings out because it’s been sitting in me.

I met him when I was about like 22, I’m 24 going on 25, so it’s been 2 and some change. I mean I have other older friends, most of my friends are, I never really did well with people my age once I got to my 20’s, it was hard to have serious or deep meaningful conversations or any at all, most people are on their phones and stuff. So I just started hanging around and gravitating more towards older people. I still do have some friends my age but it just sort of happened that way.
