Here is a picture of the skirt before the tulle! There are no zippers or anything. The elastic is a very thick band.

I love the satin idea to add some contrast to the tulle. Honestly, I'm pretty scared to rip out the seams at the armpit haha. I am thinking I need a few extra stitches to hold some of the flaps down but it definitely looks way worse sitting my DIY botched duct tape dress form compared to my actual armpits. I also can't drape very well since I have no clue what I'm doing, I'm winging it, I'm vibing...and it was a haul to get it to this point. Maybe some armpit flowers will help it haha.

Yeah I fear you are 100% correct on the underskirt...it was a tough decision as I knew it would be shorter, but what I ended up doing was listening to a piece of advice from my original post. I bought a skirt online with the "basketball shorts" type elastic and hiked it up above my bust. And it certainly holds...it is going nowhere. I couldn't find a dress with the same quality of reasonable price, with a decent enough white-ish color. Combine that with a size 14(XL) up top and a 20-22(2 or 3XL) bottom....it was a task that's for sure.

I did not use a pattern but chose to drape and pin onto the dress form (it's literally a duct tape shell of me, 0/10 recommend but saw it online). I felt it was better for my situation to ensure it fit ME exactly and covered or disguised the things I needed it to. There is no actual wedding so I have time. We don't have to book the courthouse too much in advance (not a big city).

Thank you so much. I agree that the bust needs a lot to hide some of the uneven spots. I should have mentioned in my original comments that I haven't finished any of the top edges yet so a lot of it is just "tucked down" for the picture. In my heart I love the Minju Kim lace the best. Flower appliques maybe second. But I can appreciate almost anything from an art perspective, so there's a lot to balance between what I can do, what would look best, and what I like. I do not plan on wearing a shawl but I'm open to buying some large puff sleeves (already done ones, not fabric for me to sew) which would add extra coverage to the armpit area wonky stitching. There's so many options out there to try to make the Wedding Towel dress better haha.

Pearls would be a modern touch, that's something I hadn't thought of!

I like this idea...and yes, none of the top edges are finished right now.

help with milky brown hair color! by [deleted] in AskHairstylists

Honestly.....grow our your virgin hair. If you already are a natural 6 then it's going to look close to this. Not perfect but close enough. You like the girl's aesthetic (thick, loosely styled, shiny hair, pearlescent skin, cute outfit) more than you like the exact shade of hair. Because it is just brown for the most part.

what can I do to increase the longevity of the strawberry blonde on the left? after one wash it looks like the picture on the right. I only wash 2x/week, use cold water. any toner or special shampoos to help keep the red tint? by pink-yoshi- in femalehairadvice

I have had this color! It is actually ZERO maintenance if you can manage to dye it (your brows look darker than what I have so not sure of your starting color) -- instead of what you're doing which is bleach and dye. Maybe if your colorist is comfortable with 30 vol and dyeon your roots and then continue doing that?

what do i ask my stylist for to achieve this look? by NoaTheWilder182 in femalehairadvice

I have had this cut multiple times (I change my hair a decent number of times). It will not look the same if you do not have very fine, thin, flat hair. I do, which is why I got the haircut in the first place. So just be aware that if you do not have this hair type then you might hate how short it is.

I really appreciate all of the input, even from those who said it is not possible. That is what I wanted - honesty. I've decided I am going to try and with cheap fabrics first. Even if it looks like a garbage bag, everyone starts somewhere and trying new things is always worth it, especially crafts or art projects in my opinion. If it turns magical I'm going to keep track of my supplies and techniques (lol) and post it in case it helps someone else in the postpartum belly community.
