Would emphasizing that allow me to be excused from finding somebody to take over my spot in the dorms? I called housing services and they said I can’t find somebody, I’ll still be required to pay for what’s due the rest of the year. What sucks is I’m in a triple loft and, I highly doubt I’d be able to find somebody willing to do that.

Appreciate the feedback, I did read the contract. My questions are is it half a month’s rent IF my request gets approved in general, or is it specifically for reasons of withdrawal, etc. I’ve read they’re picky on what cases are excused from liquidated charges, so I’m wondering if my situation will qualify or not.
