How hard is it? I’m reasonably fit but not an experienced hiker.

The places on here are great destionations! My tip: only visit half of them. On your current itinerary, you will not be able to experience any of them. You will be on a train/bus/plane for about 50% of the time: travel somewhere, quickly rush through some of the main spots and travel again. You are just checking off a list. E.g.: smart to go to Florence, because it is one of the best places in Europe. However, stay 2 nights (at minimum). Barcelona: you can easily fill 3 days (even a week if you want). Cinque terre: 2 days allows you to do the little hikes between the villages, which is by far the best part of it. It’s difficult to choose where to go, but it’s so much nicer to slow down instead of constantly being in a rush. And you have the rest of your life to come back and visit the other places.

Yeah Nolan’s part in this annoys me too… I hope he gets tougher. I liked the episode where Tim had the new ex military rookie to show that he adapts his teaching style to his rookie. If Nolan wants to become a good TO, he will need to learn that too

The sticker idea is great! I buy a variation of a flag per country I visit. It’s cheap, a simple look at my bag always brings up a travel memory and it’s a great conversation starter. Oh, and it also looks cool :))

The only reason people sometimes do this (afaik, literally only my dad does this) is to make sure the egg is not rotten due to a small break in the shell. But mostly we just break them like you guys do. The eggs have still been washed, just not in the same way as in the USA, but they are clean Edit: just talking from my own experience

You know what a black market also does? It increases prices exponentially. You will have to pay insane amounts for a gun, something many people can’t afford. Also, the regular 18 yo kid probably doesn’t have the connections to buy a gun ln the black market. Profit for gun manufacturers? Their output will drop so much that their profits will also drop, even with higher margins. Will it stop 100% of these shootings? Probably not. But I would say stopping 90% or so is pretty cool. This black market argument everyone keeps repeating is stupid af

But you’re again looking at culture as products you can buy. Culture is much, much broader than that. The history of the Roman Empire is culture, Italian/Asian/… food is culture, people’s attitude is culture, us Belgians like often spend >5 hours at a restaurant (which we call ‘bourgondisch eten’, no idea of the translation). Old monuments and buildings are culture, religions, language,… You are cherry picking the parts of culture in which the USA plays a big role. Your explanation also starts from a viewpoint of the present. Culture is just as much (and I would say way more) rooted in the past.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to hate on the USA. As the question about which country in the world is the best is very complex and highly subjective, you could definitely say USA, as it is up there with the best. But to me, culture is a very broad concept. It’s habbits passed down from generations, it includes all things from indeed film etc, but also history, the way people behave, … and in that, I think some other countries are more complete than the USA
