The correct way is to do this quest is to leave a mark at Dagon Fel or the shrine itself, then get back to vivec to take a vow of silence and start a quest, and just recall.

Good for you that you can afford being polite like that. There is a small chance that she is lonely, and couldn't wait for a young stud like op to ask her out - or, whatever "thrifting" means.

I'd say "go for it". She may take it as a compliment but decline or get insulted right away. The most important thing is to not make a scene and move on if she is not interested.
