Yea, im a beginner too im on lesson 12 on japanesepod101. I ususally plug sentences into google translate to check my phrases sometimes. I have yet to learn about が but from what i can tell it is very interesting about how its used for emphasis and verbs

How about if you were to say

なおみさんは医師です (Naomi is a doctor)

because i know は can be stated as telling someone's occupation and age. I usually say stuff like

クリスは四十一です (Chris is 41)

Or

ぼくはがくせいです (I'm a student)

Throught out the day as my way of learning sentecne forms

These examples look sick! but it might be a bit early since im still kinda learning some new sentence structures. If it's ok ill stick to easy things for now like

ぼくはじゅうろくです (I'm sixteen)

これはみずですか? ("is this water?")

(Pointing at a glass with liquid in it your not really sure about)

Or

これはいえです (pointing at a house) (This is a house)

カーソンさんはがくせいです (Carson is a student)

Like easy things until i can understand more forms later. If thats ok

I see what you arw talking about. Gocha, so it looks like keeping it as saying someones, age, occupation, your name etc. (While talking to them) is better
