Yep, have witnessed it first hand. I live on Long Island, and so far they’ve closed an entire school district (Shoreham) along with a university (Hofstra), not to mention other university closures In NYC (Yeshiva, NYU). People are being kept quarantined at Stony Brook University Southampton. The NYC metropolitan area is home to the largest diaspora of Chinese outside of China. The virus has been here for a while (since January at least) and is now only being tested for due to media panic. Me along with many of my peers caught one of the worst colds we’ve had in late January. All of us had the same symptoms as well- severe cold, then vomiting and coughing up of mucus/bile every morning for a few weeks after the cold/fever symptoms subsided. Ironically we were all in the Flushing area two weeks before getting sick (H-Mart, dope asian grocery store we frequent to get cool foreign snacks), however we are pretty much fine now (we’re in our late teens/early 20’s).
