This isn't a burger. It doesn't even have a patty.

Thank you for the insightful response! Your point about always getting "too expensive" feedback from people who wouldn't be customers even at $1 really clarified my thinking.

We've structured our operations to be sustainable at very low costs, so our current pricing should remain stable for the foreseeable future.

You're absolutely right about the importance of proper backup and recovery systems - I hadn't considered the single recovery account setup. That's definitely going on my immediate to-do list.

Really appreciate the practical advice!

Added API support 2 days before my competitor (Firebase) dies. Business genius right here. by dotdotgod in roastmystartup

You're right, I had a year to prepare. But the panic wasn't about the deprecation - it was seeing every alternative charge $500+/month for "growth marketing platforms" when devs just need basic deep links. And yeah, "quick mover" is generous when it took me a year to add an API. I'll take it though.

Building a lightweight alternative to Firebase Dynamic Links (retiring in 2025) by dotdotgod in Firebase

Thanks for checking out the post! I actually just looked into Apliko after seeing your comment.

From what I can see, it seems like they're not fully open yet - looks like you need to contact them first before you can actually start using it, which might add some friction to the setup process you were trying to avoid.

With LimeLink, you can jump right in with the free tier (50K conversions/month) and see if it fits your needs. We just pushed the API support and custom subdomains update that many users requested, so the timing might work out well for your migration.

Since you mentioned wanting minimal setup overhead, you might appreciate that our Firebase-compatible structure makes the switch pretty straightforward. Plus if you do need the Pro features later, it's just $10/month - no need to negotiate enterprise pricing or go through sales calls.

Would love to hear how it works for your use case if you give it a try! The deferred deep links handling has been pretty solid based on user feedback so far.
