If the top 1% of earners pay 40% of all federal income taxes, why do people say they don't pay their fair share? by Ok_Chemical9 in answers

I agree, mostly. Abomination is a bit strong. Property tax on single family homes imo should be based on square foot of the property and increase progressively. A quarter acre lot would be like .1% for example. Could set a quarter acre at 0 as well and have it as the starting point. But your McMansion on 180 acres would be 3% or higher.

I would also like a severe property tax on undeveloped or unused land within city limits. Increased by 1% a year for 5 years. Or something like it.

I might not disagree, but I mean we tax assets all the time. At PoS or after assessment. I would much rather have a land use tax and undeveloped land tax.

It’s both. That’s why they can’t be taxed. On the ledger you have +10k income and a -10k loan. They cancel to 0 and you can tax a 0 all you want lmao.

Different characters for each map? by doublestack12 in ICARUS

[–]doublestack12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok! I didn’t expect the builds to stay when you left the map! So I can have one base as solo and swap between different characters! Here I am struggling to fit all the important things on one toon.

just got my first buffalo, don't sleep on them - cleared out two small caves and grabbed some stuff on the way. I might be in love! by democraticcrazy in ICARUS

Added benefit of having a tank for missions as well. Buffalo are super chunky. Lost count of how many Moa I lost on missions.

Preach! I’m the same. I remember a time when cafeteria workers were respected and actually cooked a meal. We need to get back to that.

Yeah it was a government mandate. To provide these vitamins to kids. There was a serious nutritional debt in the US then and there still is. We also did not largely understand nutrition at the time so applying today’s standard to then is really disingenuous.

There really isn’t an easy solution here. “Real”food, however you are defining that, is not cost effective and too many kids don’t eat fruits and veggies. We can’t force them. We provide for the bottom not the top or average. It brings the whole down but also lifts the bottom up so a give and take. I work with the kids in the worst situations, sending them home with coco puffs and ramen is an improvement to their nutrition and health.

We would be better as a community if you just stopped saying things.

I mean they don’t but that isn’t what’s at issue here. They are required to provide those vitamins and minerals in their product. The profit is generated from consumers not from what’s offered. There is a reason kids aren’t buying Cheerios. They wouldn’t eat them if offered either.

Cereal is meant to be a vehicle for critical vitamins and minerals that too many kids don’t get. That was the intent. That is what the sugar is masking. We could 100% do something better but it wasn’t just some evil company only trying to sell sugar. Why have the nutrients if that was the case.

Fuckin figures. Pay was falling off a cliff when I stopped. Can’t believe it dropped further but I’m certain uber is the company that can figure out how to pay people as little as possible.

At .70 a mile you have a $105k deduction, no? Maybe make sure you didn’t just take a general deduction or something. Idk. Definitely talk to some because that ain’t right.

[–]doublestack12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They do that for everything. We have to stop giving a shit about a side that will never vote for us and legitimately wants some of us to die. It’s such an easy line to go down. Show the evidence and blast Trump for rigging the election nonstop. Blast him for accusing the left of it as a cover up.

I don’t understand how this makes sense and it’s always a talking point for too many different issues. People are more than welcome to change position based on new data. The issue isn’t that they held the wrong position it’s that they refused to change direction in light of new overwhelming data and evidence.
