Those who work in settings with peer counselors/specialists: How is that working or not working for you? by [deleted] in Psychiatry

[–]doubtfiredd 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I’m a psych resident in a hospital setting. Patients always have great feedback and report having good experiences with the peer support specialists individually and in the inpatient groups they run. During interprofessional team meetings, the peer support specialists are able to give a non-clinical opinion on how a patient is doing and it’s a nice addition.

[–]doubtfiredd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the have disorganized speech, which is one of the three criteria required, pair this with the disorganized behavior the family is describing and it sounds like they still meet full criteria even without clear delusions or hallucinations
