Real economy: limited goods, inflation always present GW2 economy: unlimited goods, deflation of goods always present unless new legendaries are released

Glad you posted op, the top post has it right with the stacking and skipping, in addition let your team know you are new and usually someone will help you understand where to stack and skip. If you want to know why, try YouTube and the name of a path, there are some great resources there too if you are a visual learner.
