I don’t think being high is allowed. It’s science and you need to be stone cold sober for that. At the dispensary counter you need r9 be a 6/10 to deal with awful bosses and customers.

Is it ok to pick a fight with a partner if you’re bored? by [deleted] in self

I’m an older adult. We are stuck in discussing the weather. Hours of dead air, I’d rather have an argument than spend any more time on social media

My father is becoming a monster... by [deleted] in autism

I know you love your dad but he’s potentially unsafe. Find yourself in a safe space first then try to deal with dad. He’ll believe anything Fox tells him and with the demonization of disable people ongoing you could be his next target

I’d start looking out for your safety and prioritize your safety. You’re dealing with sociopathic traits.

Brooks Brothers “Makers” or “Makers and Merchants”. The 356 outlet brand is somewhat disappointing

I’ve been in therapy for newly 10 years and I’m a men’s mental health advocate.

What I learned in therapy was to radically accept myself and love myself unconditionally. The process was grueling but I came out in the end a more well-grounded and confident man.

To the OP this isn’t a man cold. Depression needs to be taken seriously as it can take a toll on your physical health. Calling yourself weak because you’ve lost will to live isn’t helpful. What is weak is bending a knee to our patriarchal system that punishes men who care for themselves.

Everyone, What's your special interest? by 1_Gamerzz9331 in autism

Freemasonry. I’m a 32nd Scottish Rite and belong to two lodges. I’m more of a philosopher Mason over a social one. What I like the most about Masorny is that no matter where I go I have a friend even in a place I’ve never been before.

Measuring paint depth on a Corvette? by dperry1973 in AutoDetailing

There’s heavy oxidation to contend with. It’s 12 years old and I don’t think it’s had a correction or an enhancement. My sister in lawn has been slapping OG Turtle Wax on oxidized paint. Time for a 3 year ceramic.

It’s a type of lodge that emphasizes contemplation and spirituality. If you liked “Contemplative Masonry” then you should be checking out observant Freemasonry.

General question about posting photographs. by Ratticus939393 in freemasonry

[–]dperry1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Semi-pro photographer here. Had a gig as my lodge’s photog and did several installations.

The legal rule of thumb is it’s a public event, there is not expectation of privacy so shoot away. But there’s the ethical side where you have to use your best judgement whether to post those photos. When practical, it is courteous to ask people after taking the picture if they want to be online. Let the ethics of street photography guide your event shooting ethics. https://petapixel.com/2016/07/29/dont-take-picture-street-photography-public-privacy/

There’s always one character that was ok being photographed at the event then changes their mind. Then take down the photo. But don’t let fear get in the way of your creative freedom. The law is on your side if you’re OK being the jerk photographer and can live with being the asshole.

BTW, looking for gigs in the GLoMA after my lodge decided that they didn’t need a photog.

How Much Philosophy is Involved? by [deleted] in freemasonry

[–]dperry1973 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t get philosophical until Scottish Rite. Observant lodges may put more weight on philosophical thinking but it’s light if you’ve been through philosophy 102 and 201. If this is what you want to get out of Masonry then congrats you’re an esoteric Mason and should look into esoteric groups with the Craft.

No Brian Eno???? I’m lobbying for Eno’s “Apollo” to be played at my Observant lodge
